4.21 vsh.self to vsh.elf = decrypted !
wow, I was out for some hours and there's a los of development
I've been talking to someone on DEX on ps3isos and he tellsme that act.dat is not deleted when he upgrades/downgrades to 3.55/4.21, and further on, I checked the default vsh.self from rebug update 0.7 and @itskamel 's DEX CFW and even though they have different CRC, they look pretty much the same, so maybe my supposition that vsh.self from DEX is does not have the same checks as CEX?

since it'skamel has stepped up and vsh.self for 4.30 has been patched and needs only encrypting, I'm stepping aside to leave it to the pros.
But if anyone's interested, I have 4.25 DEX vsh.self, both encrypted and decrypted

Slightly offtopic, but are there keys publicly available to decrypt lv1 and lv2 for 4.x yet? I'm trying to get Rogero's lv1 and lv2 decrypted so I can maybe see how he added peek/poke and then maybe apply it to 4.x DEX..

the keys are up to 4.25 . but the 4.25 keys works on 4.30 , 4.30 must use the same keys as 4.25 , dont think they found this out till after the news post . i think it was said earlyer in this thread somewhere as i saw it here

I think some games need more stuff to fix, like sprx files, for example.I tried to fix some updates, but i got nothing until now.
thanks for your work. unfortunately, it still tells me to update and I think I know why:

when starting the game for the first time, it tells me to have an 2,8 GB install. you have to do that. so there is a dev_hdd0/game/BCES00569 folder created. of course I swapped eboot.bin and param.sfo even there, but I think while installing, some database file is updated which says BCES00569 has FW 4.10 or higher. so that is the problem. Can I fix this when I swap eboot.bin AND param.sfo BEFORE doing that 2,8GB install?

UPDATE: problem is most certainly what I wrote above in combination that the required eboot.bin which is installed is in the 2,8GB DATA.PKG! How to swap it in there?

here are the extracted 4.xx gt5 academy files. would be great if someone could create a PKG from the modified 3.55 files.

Yeah it's cool mate, I got what you were saying. Just that 3D in this instance wasn't a good example as it is an "optional" feature

but something like needed game functions that use a newer library then yes, you could run into issues on older FW.

That bridge will be crossed when it comes to it.

Are you using a spoofer?

Try using a spoofer and see if it still asks for an update.
