The point was BC was costly hence why I paid £425 for my FAT PS3, I'd call it a bonus for early adopters.

They could do both, as not everybody would want to stream stuff. they don't make you buy anything, you have a choice whether too or not.

The PS4 is not going to have BC with PS3. PSX and PS2 titles will most likely be available via PSN/SEN. I wonder if the security is going to be as hectic as the PS3....

Well, if the user has the games for the said console he/she will probably buy it to play them on.

For PS2's case, a mid-end or high-end computer would far better than playing on an actual PlayStation 2 or 3.

This is awesome to play PS2 games in HD Widescreen and 60 fps but I really don't expect it to be on PS4. PS3 didn't have such gorgeous PS2 tech like this, instead it upscaled or so.

Why wouldn't it have PS1 compatibility? That is an easy one to emulate and all Sony consoles have PS1 backwards compatibility. PS2, PSP, PS3, PSVita...

Also, why do people keep insisting on calling it PSX? The PSX is a console on its own, it is a PS2 DVR that was solf in Japan. The first console to have the XMB menu.

Final dev kit in summer means there's going to be some rushed PS4 games next holiday... I can't imagine Sony giving MS a year's head start again.

Some other points: 8GB RAM is terrible if true. No future proofing at all. 16 or bust. And no chance of 256mb SSD either, have these editors even seen the prices?
