Thats why i said assume :P i knew it was your guide. i was reading somewhere that i can use a psp or ipod or android phone is that true? if so i have all three and don't need to waste my money. 2. is there a place to get all the stuff in one i mean where did you purchase it from? everywhere online that progskeet says they distribute to they don't have everything if anything at all first step is getting the stuff i need. this whole damn thing is just a hassle wish i could just find someone to do it for me XD

i searched for "progskeet paypal" and "360clip nand paypal" and "360clip nor paypal" etc
it was hard for me as i just wanted an outlet that accepted paypal but if your not fussy skip the word paypal.

i'm in the uk but i had items comming from all over the world. real pain then but its getting harder by the day now

ok checked on the ps3devwiki and the only way to get fsm files on it is via the software that downloads it direct to the device (i also remember a thread on here about it now) so due to the website for the psjailbreak now taken down it cannot be updated as a fsm dongle.

sorry but you need a different dongle

Just wanted to post and say thank you Bailey! I successfully downgraded my launch 60gb fat PS3 using the guide.

Some things I noticed were that my COK-001 motherboard has a NAND chip on the other side of the board (backside) rather than both being on one side. This lead initially to some confusion on which was the Flash 0 (top) and which the Flash 1 (bottom). But after swapping them in FlowRebuilder (when merging the two and checking the files it created) allowed me to determine which was which.

The biggest pain by far of the whole process was getting that solderless clip on correctly for WinSkeet to recognise it. I would add that gently scrubbing the pins with some cleaning Alcohol on a clean toothbrush (on the solderless clip and NAND chips) can help in making sure it's won't fail due to the pins being dirty (as that was the case with my solderless clip).

Any way, thanks for making a coherent and easy to understand guide Bailey!

P.S. If anyone is still looking for a shop that sells ProgSkeet 1.1, [shop.01media.com] has them in stock. That's where I got everything I needed (ProgSkeet 1.1, NAND adapter PCB, 360-clip and Injectus programmer).
