CECHL motherboard compatible with CECHP?

I just found a replacement motherboard to my broken CECHP, the only that differ is that it's a CECHL moatherboard. Will this work with my CECHP machine? If I understand this correct the CECHL is only the 80GB version of CECHP (160GB), so it should be a problem right?

And another question. Can I just switch the motherboard, or is there something I have to do to make it all work? Reformat the harddrive or something?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I already have a BMD-031 bluray board that's compatible with CECHL

If your CECHP PS3 has the VER-001 motherboard and the CECHL PS3 also has VER-001 it's fine. But you want the BMD-031 logicboard to be included with the replacement motherboard from the CECHL, otherwise you will have to remarry the logicboard you already have.

They both are VER-001, so that's a relief But where do I install the BMD-031 logic board? I've seen bluray drives that have the board under the drive, but is mine located inside the drive so that I have to take it apart?

And also, I think that CECHP comes with either 031 or 021, and if my drive has 031 I don't have to change the board?

Yeah you have to remove the outer casing to install the logic board. Simply pull back the white sticker and lift the clip to remove the ribbon cable. Then remove the 5 small screws so you can take off the top cover and the shiny bottom cover.

The logic board you have now, won't work with the replacement motherboard you are getting unless you remarry it. So that's why I mentioned having the logic board included with the replacement motherboard, to save you some work. But if it's not available you should do a search for remarrying the logic board.
