These people have no clue on what they are talking about, all corporations have to do is shout "piracy", and they automatically side with them.

Hell why not ban customised PCs and allow Apple to monopilise it's Macs, cos building your own system to what you want is "jailbreaking" cos you are setting it up to do what you want.

Idiots, many of us worked hard to raise money to buy ourselves and kids PS3 . I can do what I want with it, I payed for it. I can set it on fire, I can smash it with a brick, I can take it apart as I please, and I can certainly use any product that's usable with it for hacking or for knowledge. What other stupid law are you going to add? Are you guys gonna tell me I don't own the food in my fridge either? Stupid, just stupid.

Last I checked, freedom is one of the basic human rights.
As I've been taught, freedom is the right to do whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm other people. Jailbreaking my console doesn't harm people, so if I want to do it, DMCA can suck it.

Thats also what confuses the crap out of me. Sony needs to make up its mind whether they want allow jailbreaking or not.
I've mentioned on more than one occasion that they help you unlock all their sony ericsson android phones's boot loader online by submitting the first 14 digits of your IMEI number and email address then they send you your bootloader unlock key. (pck0?)

Why would you want to unlock your bootloader? To install an after market ROM. What is jailbreaking your ps3 again? Oh yes, flashing an aftermarket ROM (same concept anyway). Why is one illegal and one isnt? Both can be used for aftermarket/pirated apps and games...so why?

Further research into this and you would find out that they encourage enthusiasts jailbreaking their phones only that it voids the warrenty. I can totally live with that...but why the phones and not the ps3? Why class everyone who wants to enjoy homebrew on a games console as a criminal?
