FlowRebuilder shows errors when validating multiMAN CEX dumps

Hello, I converted to DEX 3 months ago, today I checked my 2 NOR flash dumps with HxD and FlowRebuilder v4.2.2.0 by selecting "byte reverse and EXTRACT a NOR dump File".

HxD showed that the NOR files are identical and the byte analyses are the same with this table:

http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...ng_flash_dumps

But FlowRebuilder gave error with the NOR dumps and didn't create folders.

I successfully converted to DEX but does this situation mean I can't go back to CEX? If any of you checked your flash files with FlowRebuilder, let me know if these happened to you. Thanks.

Hello again. I used CEX2DEX, not c2d. Would it create a difference?

In Flowrebuilder choose "EXTRACT a Byte reversed NOR dump or an interleaved and unscrambled NAND dump."

I dumped my NOR without problem. The problem is created by FlowRebuilder.

The problem is the dump is not byte reversed so you are trying to extract and byte reverse a dump that is already the way it should be. What you need to do is choose byte reverse at the bottom of the options. It will give you a bkpps3.swap file. Then choose that swap file for the byte reverse and extract nor option. Problem solved.

Many thanks FlowRebuilder didn't show a problem for the backup. That means I have a valid couple of dumps

But now my NOR dump's SCE section looks like NAND type, it shows little "a" letter above and below of the SCE.

Dump passed all other tests, so can I continue?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but has anyone ever had a corrupt dump using memdump or multiman. I mean, witha flasher there are lots that can go wrong like the clip or flasher might not be getting good contact, but with a program like those, they are calling upon the system to dump its memory. I mean, I guess it could dump corrupt, but it seems highly unlikely since you are asking the system to dump its memory to another device(USB), not asking a flasher to read what is there and copy it.

I, too, don't think there will be a corrupted dump, but being cautious with PS3's flash is my job

Thank you @playerkp420 it worked but now if I need to restore the flash do I use the original or the byte reversed flash backup

Thanks
