Dehashing after hardware downgrade without a blu ray drive

Hi all,

I recently downgraded a console via progskeet from 3.60 to 3.55. It boots up fine, but the next step I apparently need to do is to de-hash the system which apparently requires me to have a blu ray drive attached to the console.

This particular console doesn't have a blu-ray drive and I don't have a donor one to remarry to the board (yet). Is there any way I can dehash the system without a blu ray drive?

after downgrade and installing the nocheck pup in FSM, do not exit fsm yet...re-install 2x OFW3.55 in FSM (patch it for NOBD-PS3MFW), then exit FSM

The nocheck pup being the Rogero CFW I installed with the lv2diag.self after the hardware flash? (followed this tutorial and bits of the wiki: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...584#post387584)

Can I drop back into FSM with my service jig and flash the OFW 2x?

Dehashing requires a bluray drive.

i don't think that would be possible. without a bd drive attached (needs to have atleast the core working) you can't do much and you can't run pkgs either. i suggest you remarry with a new drive first then perform the rehashing. or, if that drive has the system core working, perform the rehashing with no checks no bd pup. you can make one with mfw builder out of 3.55 OFW

edit: @pereb27 , even if he rehashes, the pkgs won't work, which was what he was aiming for in the first place. euss told me this personally himself.

Well, according to the wiki (and I have no idea how I missed this part), I can patch OFW 3.55 with MFWBuilder for NOBD checks.

From the wiki:

<eussNL> If for some reason you cannot dehash because of BD or BT errors then you can use PS3MFW Builder and the broken Blueray / broken Bluetooth tasks. Do not select downgrader patches, or you will not dehash!
So I'm assuming that I just trigger FSM with the service jig, put the lv2diag.self and modified OFW 3.55 (with NOBD patch) and flash 2x, then exit FSM with exit lv2diag.self. Am I understanding this correctly?

yes, but if you really don't have a drive, then the pkgs won't work, pure and simply.

Okay, so I'm asking my friends if I can use one of their blu ray drives to remarry to the board real quick. If I do that, will I be able to disconnect it after this whole hurrah and give it back to them in full working order (naturally assuming I don't physically damage the drive)?

I just want to make sure that the drive will work on their PS3 even though I marry it to mine.
