So I finally jumped from kmeaw 3.55 to rebug 4.21 rex.
Never downgraded but still did qa flag.
Upgrade went smoothly. Afterwards was able to sign in to psn and sync all my trophies. Tried some psn and psx games signed for 3.55 - half of them worked while other didn't. I wander if it's because of methods used to fixed them for 3.55 cfw.

The only issue I have and it's a major one. I upgraded to latest multiman 4.10 and whenever I select a game (doesn't matter which game - pre-3.55, 3.55 patched, or with newer firmware), it just goes to black screen and ps3 freezes. It never even gets to xmb where I could launch a game from disc icon (I have original ps3 game in bd drive).
What could be causing this? Do I need to enable/disable certain setting in rebug or multiman to make it work?
If anyone has some idea, please share.

Edit: I got it fixed. I just had to uninstall multiman and do clean install. Must of been two years of updating same multiman installation w/o ever deleting it. Glad to see that all of my 3.55 patched games are working.

That would be a waste of time considering you can switch to DEX with the click of a finger on Rebug
A LOT safer than the traditional method.. both CEX and DEX kernels are already in there.. you just need your dump.. click a button and youre DEX, click a button again and youre CEX.

Im thinking that its just a play on words cause the FW can switch between CEX and DEX settings. they were probably trying to come up with a name for inbetween those and decided to use R because of there team name ^_^

Im not sure but if anyone knows offically why they named it REX that would be awesome to know ^_^

hehe, this is my fourth post here, but the fact of the matter, I barely visit this site, so meh.

Don't go bashing me with idiotic things for my question might have a real simple solution to it. Okay, I am now on the new rebug firmware, 4.21.1, my PS is a SLIM model, and I do believe I could get it to DEX, but I am having trouble with that.

"This option requires you have a valid NOR/NAND dump named correctly on dev_usb000. Use EXPORT FLASH TO FILE function to dump your NOR/NAND to dev_usb000 and then use c2d.exe to convert your dump to DEX."

I have been trying to use that program, 'c2d.exe', but for some reason my dump does not convert, to my knowledge, the CMD that pops up stays the same and then just goes away after a few seconds of just staying there doing nothing. The CMD screen has this written on it:

c2d - Changes REGION/TARGET_ID in PS3 NOR/NAND flash
Usage: c2d.exe eid_key_file.bin in_flash.bin out_flash.bin [target_id]
[target_id]: 82..8E

Today I have successfully converted my CECHG04 40Gb FAT with 2x128MB NAND from DEX to CEX without old backup of my NAND using @carldenning 's tutorial, and then installed Rebug 4.21 REX with @itskamel 's tutorial. Now I am happy guy. :D

which is the best app to downgrade from rogero 4.21 to 3.55, would it be rogero's downgrade pup file or rebug's 999 downgrade file. if anyone was on rogero's CFW and downgraded back to 3.55 using rebug's downgrader please let me know.thanks...........................sudeki300

Think you judt need to stay on cex and follow kamels tutorial step 8. That dhould work for psn.
