If the update is released in the last 2.5 years - then yes you will need to fix it.

Yes it is a requirement to be on the latest patch to play on PSN.

Thanks for the quick reply! Do i resign the eboot or do i need to do something else to it? Also anything else i need to fVck with besides the eboot? If i can use trueancestor for the eboot should i use resign disc backup or npdrm 3.55? I never really understood what the difference is between the two.

afaik, NPRDM eboot = the eboot from within the PKG update (for example 1.02), and the original eboot = the 1.00 version on the disc backup.

You might need to resign any self/SPRX's that are included in the games directories (every game is different)

You also need to decrypt and sign SDAT's if they are present, however the method is not yet public on how to do this (for example PES 2013 has a SDAT that is signed in the 3.55 FIX patch, but it was done with as yet unreleased tools)

Wow this is golden man. Ok so I understand the nprdm bit now. If I'm messing with the eboot of an update than use nprdm and if not from update use disc backup, got it.

Do update pkgs have sprx files and sdats that need to be fixed or does only the backup game folder only need the sprx and sdats fixed?

I sure fVcking hope that sdat tool comes out soon. I wanna do nba2k if possible.

Thanks Man U rule!!

I guess it depends on the game I would assume that certain games come with updated selfs/SPRXs in updates, so if they do: yes they would need to be fixed too.
