I just made a post in the Black Ops 2 leak thread and it kind of pertains to how I feel about this. You can read it here.
You know if you guys that are dumb enough not to at least log out to switch backups would at least read what has went on in the past then you would be taking the time to sign out of the network. You wonder why PSN was blocked for so long? You wonder why PSN will be blocked again? Maybe it is because you are making it obvious to the entire world what you are doing. If Sony really can't stop us from making a new MFW each time an ofw drops then they are going to have to start banning. It is either that or have a network full of modders and cheaters that will leave a bad taste in a PS4 potential customer's mouth. Also you are also making it very unlikely the PSN on PS4 will be free, and I bet it is moderated out the ass like Live is now. This is the only choice Sony will have left and we, the modding community, is what will be a major cause of this happening. So go ahead....run your homebrew, play your backups, cheat, play releases early, and help ruin PSN this generation. Since people seem to get the two confused I am not anti warez. I am not anti-backup with online play. It is not my place to tell you what you do at home, with internet you are hopefully paying for, on a PC you purchased with money you worked for. My problem is the ability to run homebrew, and other unofficial apps on PSN. At least 360 drive flashers are restricted to backups only on Live. Most of the 360 community will also refuse to help as far as Xbox Live on a jtag/RGH. They know the chaos that could be potentially caused. That ps3usercheat pkg is going to start popping up in a lot of online games. If oyu dont believe me go have a look at NGU. Hell, look at how many times a resigned ps3usercheat pkg was requested just here. Use your heads people.

That is another point I forgot to mention. Do you know why "legit" users hate us so much? DO you knew why we are all stereotyped? A MFW user on PSN using an emulator or the user that launches MM online long enough to change a backup is automatically seen as a modder. Since all modders can potentially cheat, they think we all cheat and want to ruin Sony, PSN, and their game time. Sadly they have no understanding. I have actually been accused by an old PS2 online/PSN friend of conspiring with ps3hax to bring down PSN. If I wasn't responsible then I should tell who did it since I knew...... sadly an almost 7 year old friendship ended that day. Most of my friend's list knows that I will not cheat, or hang around cheaters, but there are plenty of other users that will recognize my name from here, google, or simply word of mouth.
Now while I blame these people for lack of understanding and reading I also blame everyone of you that have some die hard need to use PSN with MFW. If you could use it without showing off to PSN friends, or affecting a legit gamer's experience I wouldn't care, but these things will never stop.

Yeah its pretty simple, i don't know why gregoryspuntin is having a hissy fit over it, people have been using psn on cfw for years, sony have never massed banned anyone so far, the only reason people get banned is when they play call of duty online with cheats or stupidly record themselves on youtube while using cfw and showing their psn i've seen a quite a few people do that and they end up crying to their momy wondering why they have bee banned, its quite comical tbh.

You are obviously completely stupid, i mean so stupid that you never learned to read, even with HUGE writing you still failed to read, thats a fail
![]() The PS3 logs what you do, whether you are connected to PSN or not, so it doesn't matter if you log off or not, do you think you could let that sink into your stupid brain ? I'm not having a "hissy fit" over anything, i'm giving people a warning and helpful advice, i would rather warn people against a possible ban than not warn them at all, not sure why you are getting so butt hurt over me warning people. Wrong, CFW hasn't been out for years and the ability for the public to use CFW and PSN hasn't been around that long. What is comical, is your ignorance and stupidity, what will be even more comical, is when i ban your lame as, for well being a lamer ![]() EDIT Ahhh you are a Female, perhaps its your time of the month, i cant see why else you would deliberately be an ass hole >.< Last edited by GregoryRasputin; 11-06-2012 at 09:25 AM. |

I know this topic has been driven into the ground, but thought I'd mention one last thing that's relevant here, and also something I'm curious about. When using any of the spoofer pkgs out there, like ones from nathan r32, it doesn't even report the correct FW version to Sony. Below you can see the request sent out when spoofer is active:
EDIT: Also worth mentioning is that all installed homebrews send a request to tmdb.np.dl.playstation.net upon login. Just another potential way Sony can detect us.

Another recommendation for those playing games "locally" before they get released, change your local ps3 date / time to the day the game get released, or to be safe, one day after. Now, if you plan to go online eventually when the game gets officially released, wait until the date you just used.
Why do this "locally" ?, well because all local logs that use date / time info, will have that in them, so when the game gets released, if you go online and the information is synchronized you will look like a legit user, and Sony would have to do a very detailed investigation on dates / time, and man that will take some resources from their servers (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I think people who are getting banned lately (few), are those using unreleased game backups and connecting to PSN while doing so, and it is just dumb. As many users have said, there are many ways Sony could detect if you are using a CFW or using Homebrew. But we have many ways to make it difficult for them to detect us, so lets play smart, lets use the available tools, and not doing anything that could let us out in the open. SeeYa!

Alright so if PSNnja doesn't adequately hide cfw users, who choose to connect to the psn, then why can't one of the scene developers create an application that does? An app that doesn't show cfw users as being connected to Multiman nor "the second most shiitiest game on ps3" ( or words to that effect) but rather to a more popular game like MW3 or another popular multiplier online game. Maybe it could have a dropdown list of games to select from. And as for the logs that the PS3 sends out to Sony, how is it that the scene is able to crack one of the worlds strongest security codes but can't mask/diguise/modify the logs that big brother keeps on our gaming activity (which I believe is extremely intrusive). I wonder what else they "log."
