So I'm wondering if I'm able to downgrade with a 4.31 PS3 slim. I've had the playstation on a firmware lower then 3.55 because I updated to it and jailbreak-ed it before, I think it's a 3.41 factory setting. I'm hoping to buy myself an E3 Flasher by Christmas along with other gifts for my family and friends this year.

I'm also wondering about the 4.30 thing, in which you need to downgrade to upgrade with cfw. This allows you to play new games such as Assassin Creed 3, or battlefield 3 right?

About online service your able to use it on cfw with the PSN enabler and disabler app?

I realize that I need a-lot of patients when I'm downgrading to avoid mistakes or bricks.

I have been reading this thread on downgrading and it says up to 4.30 can be downgraded but what about 4.31? or does it make no difference with hardware flashers.

I just wanted to confirm if I can downgrade my console (CECH2503A) on 4.31 OFW it has a date code of 0C. Also used minverchk and it comes up with 3.40 as the base FW. So I know I can get back to 3.55 without brick. Providing that e3 works with 4.31 ofw.
The console was jailbroken previously but i restored it back to normal for PSN.

Im planning on going for an E3 Flasher as I want to use the dual boot feature as well as the downgrade.

thanks guys the scene seems to be really moving now compared to when i first had my ps3 jailbroken.

one person has confirmed it to work on his slim ps3 with 4.31 and also a load of retailers are advertising it as compatible. ill be trying mine next month ill let you know how it goes.
