I havent backen anything to iso. Just put my unreal tournament cd in, and when i want to Press copy like you say its grayed out. oh Well i Will try what you Said thank you very much for your help. Guess it wasnt idiot proof like i Said (or i am probably an idiot )

Im having a problem here. I downloaded and put the 3.55 firmware thing as instructed on my USB correctly. When i put it in my ps3 and go to system setting - systemupdate - update via storage device it says there is no applicable data. my usb is fat 32 and i did everything correctly. there is nothing else on the drive besides the PS3 folder (and ofc the update and ps3 update pup) I need help D:

I am having the same issue, I've read through everything twice and trying to trace back in this thread to see if anyone has a answer for it.

The reason for me trying to get 3.55 CFW jailbreak is so I can jailbreak to 4.30. Im currently on 4.30 OFW but I wish to jailbreak aswell.

Can your PS3 read other files off of that usb device? like avi's/mp4 etc?

Is your drive fat32?
Did you make a folder called PS3 on the root of the fat32 drive?
Did you make an update folder within the PS3 folder?
Did you put ps3updat.pup inside that update folder?

Mhm, I have tested JB on my ps3 before, It's a fat 40GB version I bought 2008. However during the summer I wiped a old laptops 120gb harddrive and turned it into FAT32 and used it in ps3. I have everything working on it, games and such.

Yes, my USB is FAT32 aswell with 16gb space.

Where did you download the OFW 3.55 from?

If it a corrupt download (bad upload from uploader /or bad download from yourself) it wont work.

Check the MD5 hash, or download another copy of the 3.55 OFW from the downloads section on this site.
