By now is all speculation, some people realized that is possible to detect cfw's now because this names in his friend profiles (is something obvious), others realized months ago when sony sent this "ultimatum" e-mail when they updated the PSN servers in 3.60

After 4.21+ cfw's and the theorically possibility of having acces to PSN in all the future firmwares... starts another game of the cat and mouse
This time with the possible cfw's detections that can be used in PS3 and PSN
The sad part is in every "round" of this game there will be people banned, but this always happens when a hack is released there is always some people that jumps in the first wagon of the train, this is something that happens globally, is not a question of a forum/english users/internet users

I think there are several ways of detection (direct and indirect), so the "problem" cant be solved at this point... this will need new "standard" ways to do the things, maybe some patchin in firmwares (like the patching REX firmware does over EID5... that is unknown how it works)... or changes in the homebrews... but ask a homebrew developer if he wants to use the PARAM.SFO from hanna montanna... initially is a pita

I think by now people can make a page in wiki with speculation of the posible detection methods... this can serve as a log to understand how detection works

That's not good, but we can probably patch that out. Looks like all apps/games/programs compiled with Sony SDK have a 'version check' inside.
The PSN login part worries me a bit more.

Also interesting is the act.dat unlinking.
I have one account, two consoles. But, my friend needed karkand, so my cfw console is not activated. I deactivate my main console, and get my cfw online, download & activate some stuff. Get act.dat by ftp. Deactivate the console, and re-activate the main box.

But, placing back act.dat and logging into psn seems the same as 'activate console'. It's sent over to Sony upon login. They then kick off the previous activated console

Before you use an English insult like "dickhead" maybe you should refine your English reading/writing skills first. Just because you can see your other account using multiman doesn't mean it is safe, and this post just earned you the idiot of the day award.

Yes. If PSID is banned it wont matter which box you try to use it on.
