All I'm saying is to help you figure it out, just check the MD5 hash to make sure its a 100% prefect file OR download it from another source and try again.

.. or not.. whatever.

Unhappy Error while updating

I was running 3.15 before starting this(I don't use my PS3 very much) and I followed the instructions, get flash drive, add file to it in the folders, reboot into restore, etc etc. During the update I get error 8002F157. I've now rebooted it 5 times and it keeps trying to update but fails at the same place with the same error. Any help would be appreciated, as I really want to play AC3 after my midterms tomorrow.

You can download OFW 3.55 and update the 3.30 to 3.55 without using recovery, then you could flash KMEAW/Rogeros v3.7 from XMB with no real problem.

Or buy a used game disc that has 3.55 update on it (check the PS3 backup compatibility wiki to be sure which games have 3.55 on disc).

The only way to get into recovery without the buttons is with CONDOR updater, but ironically you need to install it on CFW... its a vicious circle.

?corrupt? 0x8002F157 firmware related error / HDD Exchange error - 3.56-1st BUG
Not sure what the solution is here...

Can you get into recovery mode (Hold power when you turn the machine on, it powers off, continue holding power, it boots to recovery) ? and update from USB from there?

If not (cant remember when recovery was introduced) find a used game disc that contains the 3.55 update, update via disc, then try get into recovery again.

Okay, I'm back again.

I've looked around found 1-2 other download links from other sites + redownloaded here again. They are ALL same download size and same MD5 hashes. It still says No Applicable Data when I plug in my 16gb FAT32 USB into my ps3 and go to XMB and System Update -> Storage..

Anyone have ANY idea at all? Might it be my harddrive?

Do I need to reset my playstation to get 3.55..

It could well be your HDD, try another one.

"Resetting your PS3" or formatting, will not help.
