Well I welcome any help. I normally can find what I need without asking. This time however I am lost. I have read everything I can find. Most just leads to a dead end. Sucks my B-day kinda went to crap.

maybe @Bigbones87 knows if you can fix your ps3, but without a flash dump and having a corrupt flash, i just don't know.

I am about 95% sure a hardware flasher can fix this. The reason it shuts off is because of the corrupt update since you lost power during the middle of it. It messed up the flash, and now it gives the ylod effect. You could get an e3 flasher, solder the wire to the motherboard and turn it on. Then get a good bios dump, reflash it, and it should be ok after that.

Hey Thanks Bigbones! We must have posted at the same time. I didn't see your post at 1st. That would be good news. I called all the guys in CL and didn't find anyone to do that. I am in the East Orlando area.

Do you know where I can get one from a reputable company? E3 has a place listed on thier website for North America But it said they are out of stock. Would a progskeet be better then a E3 flasher? I would like to be able to downgrade the other PS3s I have and my friends later when I learn more about it. Could I do that with both? Do I have to solder wires on all the PS3s or just one and use that to do others?

Again thanks for the help!

What happens when you boot the PS3 up with no HDD in it? (Or the old HDD for that matter, assuming you haven't formatted it)

The e3 has a solderless clip, and is recommended for beginners IMO. Don't get me wrong, it is still a pain in the ass, especially your first time or 2. Modchipcentral is where I got mine, but they are out of stock a lot too. Check there. If you want someone to do it for you, @playerkp420 is in USA and he does a good job. Very reputable person and is pretty cheap. But if you are want ing to do more than one ps3, then I would recommend the e3 flasher, and then you would also need a fsm dongle, like the e3 card reader or similar item. Try what pereb27 was getting at tho and see what happens. Try booting it with no hdd in at all.

It just doesthe same as ylod. Right now the only thing I can get it to do is go green for a few seconds then yellow/red at the same time. Also 3 beeps I believe. I got it to go into the restore screen a few times. I am guessing just by the beeps because I have no video. And then a few times the screen that tells you to hit start and select but the video was choppy and it would freeze. As of now it won't even do that. Same with no HHD in.

I'm not worried about the soldering. I'm good at that. My dad is an electical engineer. He taught me when I was younger. I will check that site. If not I will just make sure they have pay pal checkout. That way if its a bogus place I will get my money back.

Solder a wire from the nor tristate to a ground point. If the PS3 stays on GLOD, instead of YLOD, then it is because of the flash.
If it still YLOD, then it most likely needs a reflow/reball.

Would do that before buying anything..
