i am so dissapointed that ppl are ignoring my advice not to use this

but please remember i did post this:-

its right on the main post so its your own fault it worked for you

but jokes aside dont forget to de-hash although dont do the service mode way that the wiki says to do as it soft bricks your console

well i have a 3.55 fw ps3 and got 4.30cfw on it now but i have found a thread that claims you can downgrade a ps3 4.20 to 3.55 with cfw without a E3 or Proskeet device

i once was dupped by that site also but it has no links to this site.
if its on this sites main page then its real otherwise its fake untill proven otherwise.

ps you will also notice how there is no warning about going to a firmware lower than the one your ps3 had on it at factory.
if you go below you will perma brick.

but at the end of the day that site as fake it just generates ads and gives you viruses when you try to download

So I'm still unable to finish the downgrade, everything went fine untill the part with Factory Service Mode, I can't get into FSM, I tried it with the PSJailbreak dongle but nothing happened, I thought maybe the PSJailbreak dongle isn't working. So I bought a P3GO GT-Break, I am still unable to get into FSM. This tutorial doesn't explain how to get into FSM and what needs to be done to the dongle. "(programmed with the correct files)", okay what files?? I've searched on google and ps3devwiki but can't find anything,.

it just needs the PSgrade hex file and you drag and drop it to the p3go
but the PSgrade files are on the wiki that still has its download section closed.

you could try googling P3GO PSgrade hex file
now you know what your looking for you should find it

try the following under payloads

Thanks alot Bailey, I got it to work. I updated my P3GO to version v11, couldn't find 12 and I had to put downgrade.bin in the root of the P3GO, the downgrade.bin file is 0 bytes, so I guess it's just a dummy file but it does have it's purpose.

I found this site with alot of hex files for dev boards, perhaps a little add on for your tutorial. http://sksapps.com/index.php?page=ps3hex.html

so which guide am i suppose to follow now? ur's is the only good one out there.

what parts of your guide are still ok? - like the strip down of slim and installation of E3 Flasher?, and what about the 1st stages of the backing up and dump and upgrading the Flasher and stuff like that?

so what would the most critical part that is risky? is it the verifying of the dumps. is that's high risk bricks?

i really need a good thorough Tutorial on how to do it. because i want to have jailbreak again.

so please help me out hare what guide can i rely on to properly install and downgrade my PS3? - or what parts of ur guide can i rely on?

and how will i properly verify dumps if i downgrade from 4.31 since all the codes and hex symbols may be different? (Some 1 said it's ok to downgrade from 4.31)

I can verify you can downgrade from 4.31

Also I can say that rule of top / bottom NAND is wrong buddy top is always side with chips rsx heat sink taken from ps3 dev wiki and confirmed pal
