I think , the Answer is No to all the above ,, you have to be in 3.55 to be able to play backups , and to be able to downgrade u have to be at least 4.21 .and by using hardware flasher

Nope. That site is BS. Primarily because it's saying that to downgrade from 4.31 OFW to 3.55 is to only install an update? I wish I would believe it but unfortunately it's not true. I do not suggest installing anything from that site.
First of all you would need to know your PS3 model. It's in the back with a name similar to CACH#. On CFW it is still possible to load your original BD games. You should be warned of PS3 games that would update your firmware version, therefore overwriting your CFW. |

You will always be able to downgrade as long as your base firmware is 3.55 or below
Ans if it is a downgradable model ofcourse
