Comparing CFW 3.55 with CFW 4.21/4.30
Okay, today we are gonna compare those CFW where everybody is asking about.
First of all: If you don't have a flasher or can't downgrade or be in 3.55 or below, don't ask how it can be INSTALLED ![]() 1: Ohh yeah the one and only perfect CFW on 3.55 (my opinion) KMEAW. It doesn't have to many crap features or hacks. It just works. A) The thing is with KMEAW you can just install PKG files. So Multiman and other homebrew apps. No other special features. B) You can only boot backup games if you resign or download patched EBOOT for a game that newer than the 3.55 games. 2: Now it has been a long time since there was a CFW and yes I have to admit I wanted to update directly to a new CFW. I am happy that I waited a couple days before I installed any new CFW because the first builds had some problems. Now you're asking witch one to choose huh ![]() Okay: the GOOD chooses are: Rebug CFW 4.21, Rogero CFW 4.30 v1.03 or higher, PS3 ErmaC 4.30 CFW. First of all if you're not going to develop or use DEX features or need all those bonus things like: Dual booting between Retail and Debug (CEX-DEX) OtherOS++ support Using save games from someone else Lock/Unlock Trophies *Cinavia protection disabled (play downloaded Blue-Ray movies) PSN on REX mode Then don't use Rebug CFW Is you are just an avarage user and liked KMEAW because it just did what you wanted use Rogero CFW 4.30 or PS3 ErmaC 4.30 CFW Because: You are on 4.30 so newer than 4.21 You don't have a lot of features witch may slow down your ps3 and you won't even use them. You are still able to install Rebug Toolbox to have SOME features if you want from Rebug. The chance of a Brick is really small (because on rebug it has the ability to swap LV1 and LV2 of your PS3 and It MAY go wrong) There is just one feature that Rogero deleted again in 1.03: Cinavia disabler. He enabled it again because there were ppl with playback issues. I don't know if Rebug and PS3 ErmaC 4.30 CFW has the same problem. From what I have heard and readed is that PS3 ErmaC 4.30 CFW is like the new KMEAW. And it's the most stable out there. I haven't tested it myself but I am going to. But PS3 ErmaC 4.30 CFW has Cinavia still disabled so going to test if I see playback issues. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Can someone move this to the tutorial section plz

You forgot one thing: CFW3.55 can't play original Bluray disc games with higher FW.
with CFW 4.XX you can play it as you are an OFW user (you buy the disc, you play it either with the disc inside or just use Multiman). so my point is CFW 4.30 users should act like OFW users (supporting game developers etc) PS: I use both Rogero 4.30 1.02 and ErmaC 4.30 1.02, indeed these are stable version. I had just watched a rented Amazing Spiderman DVD on ErmaC/Rogero and no problem. Last edited by w0313; 11-09-2012 at 08:14 AM. |

You forgot to mention Rogero 4.30 is a modified chinese cfw, Rebug build the entire cfw on its own, and is considered more stable by many people who actually know something about this.

I tried both, and the Rebug actually seems better optimized (faster XBM, no grouping bug).
But Rogero is also stable, and works fine. For the regular users who just wants to play games and run homebrews, I would recommend Rogero 4.30 v1.3.

I have tried both and like them but chose rebug because I like the options that rebug offers
I have learned when $0ny tries to pull a fast one on us the more options you have the better, just like one of the first spoofs with the cert and sp-int setting. |
