Smile Bootldr keys out - Now: Dual Boot Possible?

Yeah folks,

remember back in PSX-scene days, they were talks about breaking bootldr chain/keys especially after graf HV bible released - that we could be able to change the bootldr into Dual booting with either GameOS / Linux / XMBC etc.. .

Could that be possible now?

There was a debate between kakaroto and marcan42 if it should be rather called lv0 keys or bootldr keys. Either you name it after the decrypter (bootldr) or the decrypted (lv0).
In my opinion it makes more sense to call them bootldr keys, since all the keys found in early 2011 were named in the same pattern (metldr keys, ...).

Yeah I had to agree with marcan during that whole thing...... I like what kakaroto has done, but to show up when things pick up to argue over what something is being named is a bit dumb IMO. Besides, Marcan and f0f were the ones that gave us the 3.55 key fail and broke the ps3 down the way that they did, so if marcan and f0f chose to call it dog****LDR then that is what I would call it too

between cfws , yes.
between cfw and ofw, i don't think so.

you can see an example in bluedisk and rogero cfws. both have a 3.55 Downgrader that lets them downgrade to 3.55. you can also see that happening on REX, for example.

as for updating to ofw and then trying to downgrade, you still need a flasher

I don't think there's any point to it to be honest. If you're going to dual-boot via software, it's still a CFW, which Sony will detect should they implement checks on future updates (especially if it's on OFW mode).
Also, there are going to be limitations (NOR size).
