Hi baileyscream
I am not very good at english so I need your help ![]() Bridging the 3.3v pads means solder the two pads on the USB side(which says 3V? And what do you mean by breaking the 5v track? "the new recommended way to have the TEENSY++ is NOT to use the voltage regulator and bridge 3.3v pads and break the 5v track" I got my teensy and did all the soldering but now teensy doesn't identify the NOR and backups taken is wrong. Now I bridged the pads and now on the computer, teensy is not recognised. (before bridging, it used to recognise fine. Thank you very much for your help. I am stuck at this point. |

Bailyscream....I have my ps3 downgraded and 3.40cfw installed.
It wasnt the original ps3 my e3 was used on so it has the multiconsole.bin flashed to it. I want to know if i can flash the dual boot bin and proceed to set up the dualboot without getting the 11000100 error. |

I've Done Some Research And this is what i have found so far.
This hare is the ribbon the E3 Flasher that I'm getting - (The Limited Edition one) ![]() Were It Say SBE And SBCE - Im Guessing i Solder the Top Most Right One? ![]() were SBL it is SBE This the on i am getting: http://www.e3-tech.net/e3%20flasher.html Were: http://www.ozmodchips.com/e3-flasher...der-p-381.html Now as you saw in the above Image i believe that's were the TriState Solder point is on the point of ribbon and hare is well i believe it is the mother board i have: ![]() And were it say TirState I'm Guessing that's were i solder the other half of the wire from E3 Cable Ribbon? then i flip Board over the Clip the Clip on the Nor Chip. so when i get the Flasher will these step be OK for installation? Hare All my notes and resources i used: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/File:JSD-001_SideA.png http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/File:JSD-001_SideA.png TactikknifePTGâ„¢ |Tuto |[FR] Installation E3-Flasher Slim - YouTube Ps3 Playstation 3 PA0 NOR Tristate Point VER-001 Motherboard - YouTube SS2 NOR - NAND (Or another point of TriState Solder. they Say number 52) Point's http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/File:SS2_NOR.JPG Some 1 Check this out I'm a bit confused on how this can help me on Soldering the right points http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Templ...R-Flashertable Unless I'm Wrong About Soldering the Ribbon to TriSate Point above. if i am wrong can some one Show me on the Board JSD-001 were to Solder The Ribbon to. Because some 1 said to solder it to TriState to Make it Brick Free as the E3 Clip is **** and caused problems i read this on the ps3dev Wiki. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* OK For Dumping Verification i do this. So i Follow this Guide Right? http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/E3#Ma...3_downgrade_v2 OR This one? http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...ia_Rogero_V3.7 Now were it say's " Make a NOR backup 1. Place a blank micro SD card into the E3. Flip all switches down except the 3rd (Backup). Turn on the console. Once the HD light has stopped flashing, press START on the E3 and wait until the LED's on the indicator have reached 100% (Once finished they will flash alternatively). " i was told if you solder the Ribbon/E3 Flasher to the mother Board i heard the Combination of the switches may change for backing up and writing to the Nor Chip. so now when i have a backup would i do this on my Computer? 2.1 - Open Flowrebuilder 2.2 - select "byte reverse and EXTRACT a NOR dump File" 2.3 - select the desired bkps3.bin , and then execute operation 2.3.1 - the Dump extraction should've been done without any errors, otherwise it may lead you to a permanent brick. 2.3.2 - after extracting you should have the following output: bkps3.swap.bin and bkps3.swap.ext 2.3.3 - inside the folder bkps3.swap.ext you should have the following items: ![]() bkps3.swap.ext folder content asecure_loader (folder) ros0 (folder) ros1 (folder) bootloader_0 (.bin) cCSD (.bin) cISD (.bin) cvtrm (.bin) eEID (.bin) trvk_pkg0 (.bin) trvk_pkg1 (.bin) trvk_prg0 (.bin) trvk_prg1 (.bin) (if you don't have them, please don't proceed! try to extract the dump again, or use an diferent dump, the one you're using will probably lead you to a permanent brick) i Got the above information from: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...ng_flash_dumps Now when i open the bkps3.swap.bin for verification in HxD i follow this right? Checking seperate files/sections [edit] Metldr 2.4 - open the file ...\asecure_loader\metdlr in HxD, then ctrl + a 2.4.1 - look for your s/n in the following table: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Valid...Bbootldr_sizes , and check if your lenght field in HxD matches with Size field in the table. [edit] Bootldr ![]() bootloader_0 start 2.5 - repeat the process with Bootloader_0.bin File 2.5.1 - make sure your bootloader_0(bin) file starts proper: look at offsets 2 and 12 and compare the values against Validating_flash_dumps#Check_metldr.2Bbootldr_sizes [edit] Header 2.6 - now open your bkps3.swap.bin with HxD and check if the next fields matches. 2.6.1 - header (0FACE0FF DEADBEEF), it should match with the follwing: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Flash...CE0FF_DEADBEEF [edit] Table 2.6.2 - From offset 00000400 to 00000600 (search for offset in HxD do ctrl + g) you should have the following: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/images/3/3e/HxD.png [edit] asecure_loader 2.6.3 - Search now for the following Hex code: 617365637572655F6C6F616465720000 2.6.3.1 - for it in Hxd, do ctrl+f change the datatype field for HEX, Copy and paste the code, it should be found and looks like the following: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Flash#example_4 [edit] SCE headers 2.6.4 verify the bkpps3.swap.bin 2.6.4.1 - search for SCE in text mode (do ctrl+f SCE), and it should looks like: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Flash#example_28 [edit] CVTRM 2.6.5 - press f3 and several SCE data should be found, and the last one should be SCEI (check: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Flash#example_39 (cvtrm)) [edit] HDD info in EXTNOR 2.6.6 - verify the HDD info 2.7.6.1 - search for your HDD brand ( ctrl+f and in text mode type the disk brand) or else ctrl + g and it sould be in the 00F20200 offset [edit] Console Serial 2.6.7 - search for your Serial: (http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Flash#example_20) 2.6.7.1 - it should be in offset 003F090 , you can also look for the 2nd part of your serial number (ex: xx-12345678-xxxxxx) Information copied from: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...ng_flash_dumps if possible can you make the above + the cheeking more Noob friendly i don't 100% get it. so if my Dump Passes all these tests above it's all-right to flash? or do i have to go in more depth and use this guide to check it (will need to be cleared up as i don't get it) http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Flash OR http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Validating_flash_dumps or both? and is this guide OK For downgrade from 4.31? http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...ia_Rogero_V3.7 Even though it's for 4.21 and the files linked in there are safe to use with 4.31 Downgrade? (like the downgrade files stuff like that) Now this is how questions should be asked with N00b Support - this is my opinion Now if some could kindly read over my notes and my questions that i left in the above text with the pictures and videos. and also correct me were i went wrong. - this what i wrote of my point of view of understanding this E3 Stuff since I'm a N00b out of the Blue. When correcting me please clearly explain were and how i went wrong pictures and videos help. ......................................................................................................... Conclusion: would make more sense if you put a soldering guide to every type of motherboards there are for the PS3 From E3 Ribbon 2 Mother Board with some nice Pic's Like the PS3 Slim Strip Down. and as for verifying dumps using the wiki hare: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...ng_flash_dumps just making it more simpler would suffice. or even a program that will do it for you. not the one that's already out and is said to be a complete peace of ****. i mean a new one perhaps that follows the above wiki's guidelines. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Well i have done my research and what i could understand or not. i scraped up what i needed. ...................................... Comments. now if you put some of the updated stuff in your guide it would make more seance + putting support for Like all the different motherboards for soldering. and cheeking it over with the wiki on the main structure of your guide like the parts with the backing up the dumps and flashing them and downgrading. Now your guide for verifying dumps Make 0 sense to me. Wiki Kinda helped. - u could put that in your guide ....................................................................... ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Now the Wiki Say's DO NOT USE GLUE OR TAPE ON THE E3 CLIP now i understand that point of view the tape will probably melt with all the heat on the motherboard while cased in same goes with glue. - glue cracks and causes other problems. now we know that the E3 Flasher clip is very unsecured meaning it is Wiggly. now i don't know for the moment of this substance but i think it would be safe to secure our clip with it. now the substance i am talking about comes in a tube thing kinda looks like gun shaped thing. now it's in liquid form in the start you can usually see right through it. now when it hardens it becomes rubbery like rubber on the sole's of your leather shoes. now you can find this stuff securing your window's in your rooms. the tiles on the floor or bathroom. - i think it is silicone based, the stuff now can any one find out a name for this? + confirm if it is safe to secure the E3 clip with it. meaning just gently surrounding the clip on the side of the clip to the motherboard nowhere close to the top. - i think it is also heat resistant and shock resistant as well. My fat PS3 is a NAND one.
I already have a TEENSY++ that I'd want to use for FSM. It looks like I need ProgSkeet 1.1, NAND adapter PCB, 360-clip and Injectus programmer. Is that correct? If so, then the total cost is going to be 101.94 EUR or ($129 or £81) from http://shop.01media.com - I even need Soldering toolkit, wires and the total cost will be higher plus shipping costs. I honestly have no experience with soldering. The last time I soldered was when I did it at my school for a design project and got ok grades for it. I guess I'll be okay (just need practice). But I wonder if it's really worth all of the efforts and that crazy budget just to downgrade and unbrick if I ever get bricked. Any idea? Thanks in advance. |

Hi..I was hoping for some advice. I want to downgrade my firmware and think I have all the necessary pieces, but just wanted to verify? This is for a PS3 that was bought on release day, the 60GB model, CECHA01. Right now it's at OFW 3.70 and I obviously want to get it back to OFW 3.55 and then CFW. I used to be on KMEAW 3.55, but my 5 year old accidentally upgraded the firmware over a year ago. On hand, I have:
Progskeet v1.2 Slave Board Adapter PCB Progskeet Injectus E3 Card Reader USB Stick Soldering Iron, Solder, Wire, etc My main question is I can follow the tutorial for this, but will doing so work at this time, or do I have to wait? The reason I ask is becasue it was announced there was a memory issue with the current bitstream and there's been no news since. I just want to make sure I won't mess anything up to accomplish what I'm trying to do, and if I have the right tools to do so. Thanks for the help! |

Also the teensy is getting its power from the PS3. You'll have to make sure the PS3 is turned on and the green light is on. That screenshot is what you're suppose to see. Last edited by depressd; 11-09-2012 at 03:36 PM. |
