if you have used the multi console update and have not used it to dual boot before then it should be ok to dual boot.

i dont know everything about the E3 but i have had the same discussion before with another user in the same position and it did dual boot the second console he had downgraded using the E3 and multi console update.

I was having problem with teensy and I did all the wiring again and now I think it works. I got 7 dumps. Baileyscream I know I am asking too much but would it be possible if you could check the dump? I've read the wiki and I did the below step;
Statistics analysis

1.1 - Open your bkps3.bin in HxD
1.2 - select analysis > statistics > select your file
1.3 - mouse over the blue bars and check if between known good range:

Valid dumps will have
Value NAND NOR
00's 1.43% - 2.68% 18.38% - 29.01%
FF's 18.25% - 24.54% 10.42% - 10.48%
rest below 0.5% below 0.5%

But I cannot go any further, its kind of complicated. Or please show me the way and I will try to check my self.
Thank you very much in advance and please forgive me for my english.

CECHE01 Downgrade

Hi
Could someone please tell me if the PS3 CECHE01 (PHAT/80GB/RETRO/4USB) with slide-HDD (not the one that goes directly into the tray, but the one you have to slide to the right and adjust with a screwdriver) can be downgraded? I already asked around various hackers, but they said id was impossible at the time because they had no schemes...

I'd like to have my PS3 wit cfw for christmas
Thx

It looks like I need ProgSkeet 1.1, NAND adapter PCB, 360-clip and Injectus programmer.

Is that correct? If so, then the total cost is going to be 101.94 EUR or ($129 or £81) from http://shop.01media.com - I even need Soldering toolkit, wires and the total cost will be higher plus shipping costs.

I honestly have no experience with soldering. The last time I soldered was when I did it at my school for a design project and got ok grades for it. I guess I'll be okay (just need practice). But I wonder if it's really worth all of the efforts and that crazy budget just to downgrade and unbrick if I ever get bricked. Any idea? Thanks in advance.
thats everything you need.

you need a wire from 3.3v on the progskeet to the 3.3v on the adaptor board.

also you need to solder the injectus to the progskeet so you can update it.

if your not happy with soldering then i would suggest taking it to a tv repair shop or a phone repair shop and seeing if they will solder it for you.

or send the console to someone to downgrade it for you.

This is for a PS3 that was bought on release day, the 60GB model, CECHA01. Right now it's at OFW 3.70 and I obviously want to get it back to OFW 3.55 and then CFW. I used to be on KMEAW 3.55, but my 5 year old accidentally upgraded the firmware over a year ago. On hand, I have:

Progskeet v1.2
Slave Board
Adapter PCB Progskeet
Injectus
E3 Card Reader
USB Stick
Soldering Iron, Solder, Wire, etc

My main question is I can follow the tutorial for this, but will doing so work at this time, or do I have to wait? The reason I ask is becasue it was announced there was a memory issue with the current bitstream and there's been no news since. I just want to make sure I won't mess anything up to accomplish what I'm trying to do, and if I have the right tools to do so. Thanks for the help!
i dont have a "setting up progskeet 1.2" yet so if you ask the other users in this thread that have successfully downgraded then they will explain how to do that step.

the rest should be the same (if anyone with the v1.2 can comfirm)

hiya Decoy

i'm full of man flu but i will try to help you

i have the exact same chip that i flashed once and it worked with the above settings but due to a corrupt usb stick i bricked it after de-hash by installing rebug (the mem stick was currupt not a de-hash brick)

now it refuses to flash the patched dump back a second time.
i have tried powering the ps3 via progskeet but it did nothing.
i have tried grounding the tristate but i have got just say 80% to verify
after flashing.

if you try powering the ps3 via prog its 3.3v point on prog to vcc on ps3
and gnd/vss on prog to vss on ps3
dont powerup the ps3.
turn on prog and see if you can flash (i just had a halt)

the other way is ground out the tristate turn on ps3 (dont connect 3.3v to ps3) and the ps3 should halt wait 10-15 sec then power on prog
see if you get 80% or more to verify

btw what board have you got?

you wont find a schematic / wiring diagram for the CECHE as you need to open it and see what board is inside.
then you will find a schematic / wiring diagram for the BOARD

i didnt see that when i did it.

did you reset your pc after you installed everything?

it may be worth doing a re-start then do a second dump and see if you get the message again.

if not then do a compaire and see if the dump is different

I am checking everything according to your verifying guide and I am at the last point where I check the headers. Until now, everything seems to be OK.

OK I finally checked everything according to your verifying guide and the only thing different is the bootldr. However, I think this is normal because mine is bricked when installing Rogero 4.21 CFW directly from Trublue FW. Do you think so?
