Do you have any suggestions yourself of what cfw i should go to, or recommend another tutorial?

2) also once on that firmware, when I want to get updates for games, i just download official updates or I also have to patch or get those updates patched?

Anyhow, re install OFW 3.55, then follow @itskamel s guide to Rebug Rex, you cant go wrong from that.
