Bear in mind that (obviously) Superglue will set hard, and cannot be removed from porous surfaces. Wheras Epoxy is thicker, still sets "hard" but retains a little bit of flexibility, which is very useful for PCBs. Epoxy can be removed more easily than Superglue so you might want to try that one first and only move onto superglue if the epoxy comes unstuck / detaches. Or just use more Epoxy! Haha. Beware of hard-gluing FFCs (the flat flexible cables) and connectors. It might break them / snap them. |

but one more question remains when the E3 Clip is Clipped on how much Breathing Air Does The NOR Chip need? obviously there is a small gap near the bottom of the clip and somewhere near the top. So would it be wise to cover the whole clip with this Stuff? because i was just thinking a thin layer of it around the bottom sides. maybe just 2 sides since it may need some breathing Air as it get hot. what would you do? Cover it all? or just a bit on the sides? |

I think Epoxy is less messy and easy to apply. Note one other thing i have seen people putting Pressure on the E3 Clip Y is that? i seen them Putting 20 Cent coins on it or even using a vice to put Pressure. So if i were to Glue it with Epoxy i would have to put it over the top of the Clip as well, while putting pressure on it? Last edited by the_lost_soul; 11-10-2012 at 11:33 AM. |

if you put glue inside the chip. no matter how small will create more hight to the chip making it even more difficult to connect propperly. while the glue is wet (before it sets) it is conductive so if any glue is touching the pins or legs then it will short the chip if you test with the flasher to see if you get a good dump before it sets so you need to wait for the glue to set so you can test. if you get bad dumps or bad writes then its too late to re-adjust the clip. if any gle gets on the legs or pins then when it sets it will insulate that connection and if you can manage to remove the clip after the glue has set then it will be next to impossible to gemove the glue from the legs / pins without bending them. just use the clip for downgraging. if you want to keep the E3 attached then use the E3 linker and solder the wires. this is alot more work but well worth it as its a more stable way to do it. dont do the stupid coin on clip that the wiki says to do. this is the worst thing you can do to your console and the person that put that in the wiki should be shot for his stupidity. who in there right mind tells someone to jam a peice of metal in there console!! if it comes loose then it only has one place to go..... right ontop of your main board.....BANG!... they freek out over bloody finger prints when the board has a protective coating on it to prevent oxidization (what happenes when salt (in this case refering to what your body produces) reacts with copper. its NOT bloody greasy fingers!) that coating however wont stop a coin shorting the board the adice they put in the wiki is shocking
