hi baileyscream thats one amazing guide but im at a bit of a loose end regarding your explination on the best way to power a teensy ++ to the ps3,

you have stated the new recommended way is to not use the voltage regulator.
can you point me in the right direction to where this info is as id rather do a permanat install rather than having to desolder after flashing but im not sure regarding the vcc and if i need to cut the track on the board and do the 3.3v bridge or not.

thanks for you help and once again fantastic work with that guide, lots of respect for it

So, I tried a different dock. Same thing. The exact words are

"CANNOT START" "THE CORRECT HARD DISK WAS NOT FOUND"

so, can this mean that the clip is not installed correctly, or would it be something else?

Yes, anything "above" 3.55 will require a hardware flasher to downgrade.

AHA!!!

I actually had everything inside hooked up correctly, I just had to unplug the board from the PS3 a bit inside of the Hard drive Bay and plug the face plate on "ALL THE WAY" and then push it back into the PS3. BOOM, all the lights lit up and it went to the XMB!! Time to update the flasher.

Thanks

If yes, could someone point me in the right direction? I have a hardware flasher (teensy) and soldering skills at hand.
Anyone an answer to this?

I tried that, does not work. I thought it might be like with the xbox that if you have some original part of your dump you can build a new dump and flash that to your ps3. For the xbox only the keyvault and CBA/CBB are needed to generate a flash dump. I understand ofcourse that this is ps3hax and not xboxhax, so my question was more related towards the possibility to use generic parts from the nor dump (for example from the same console type as I can imagine most of the dump will be the same between console models) and restore a dump by using the console specific bootldr metldr etc (just guessing here if that is possible).
