You really don't know what you are talking about. Being on a debug FW doesn't tell Sony that you have the right to install that FW or proof of buying the devkit. All IDPS does is showing the model of your PS3 & target ID and that's it. Identical target IDs don't prove anything at all, either. For example, one developer of a company passes his test PS3 to another (which is legal), so how the hell would Sony know? No, it's not. This isn't the first time that Sony warned us. The first time they warned, nothing has happened so far for a very long time.

All I'm saying is that if you pirate & cheat online, you DESERVE to get banned. And it's actually easy for Sony to ban you that way.

I'll be pretty damn pissed if $ony bans my account since it's tied to my Vita also.
I've killed my ps3's psn access for the time being, as I was only using it for AC3 multiplayer and trophy syncing anyway and for the past week I've always killed the internet before loading multiman (ever since I read about $ony logging what you "play") and AC3 was completely legit.

I'm presuming that it's gonna be anyone who gets caught from the release of this message forward will be banned. Hopefully I'm right and they don't trackback...

I'm curious as to know what $ony's detection options are too. Like are we looking at hash checks on f/ws, or just simply them looking at what you've "played"? Or worse?

You do realize that all consoles' IDPS are stored on Sony servers, right? If you modify the IDPS, it will then become invalid to those servers.
They're easily going to notice if you changed it to run DEX, unless you can get the IDPS from a real devkit with the same motherboard, which I don't see happening...

Having OFW garbage is about the only thing i am mad about "Restrictions" Sony always talking smack "piracy" as they make billions a day. They brainwash people /lie about the piracy, bluntly claim who ever owns CFW is a thief basically. Never has bought nothing PS3 related in there life. So many misleading lies they want dumb people to believe & they know they are lies, but continue to post it.

Like nobody has ever bought games before the ps3 CFW or after. These man made laws are only in tact for control & to sue people to get the rich ,richer, nothing more. Copyright laws are good for nothing ."They do not stop anything & honestly cause internet uproar ,petitions ,breaking the entire internet for there greed for control/power is sad as they fill there pockets with million's of dirty money /bribery/dirty side deals/paid off law officials to get there way/ millions in bonuses every year. You think they be happy with the greed they get away with, but no it is never enough for them..

Most who know how Sony has treated people in the past / present. Only the mentally challenged would believe ,they do not know any better. Freedom in products whether it be hacked / or just a cool corporation, who lets you have full control from the start, in there products = Microsoft / Mac = Computers the Past & Future = Freedom to do as we please with no restrictions. Gaming consoles should be no different.. Blah,Blah,Blah fony.

There are some cfw users that do buy games, but you would be insane if you think that these users are more than 5% of the cfw user community.
If you play games for free, online or offline, this is thievery.I myself am using cfw to play Persona 4 because its region locked game, but still, I am a thief.Let's face it, cfw are created to pirate games.Anything else is a bonus.Lets not be hypocrites.

i agree most do pirate games but with the prices of games should you rally pay £40+ for a crap game that takes 8 hours to complete, now if i download a game and its a good game hell yeah ill go but it but hell with the amount of **** out there there needs to be a way of "try before you buy"

I have a shelf with 100 retail games in mint condition , no scratches from just the first 6 months i bought my ps3 .So i jailbreaked my ps3 for mods = COD 5 w@w + Black ops no intention to play free games. If it was for free games i would have 1 game for a dummy disc in my ps3,but i do not + i have 4 ps3s. If i needed to pirate i think 1 disc is plenty .So there are plenty of people who have bought psn/retail games i am sure .I was on psn for 2 years everyday blowing cash like water till sony pissed me off & sued geohot + graf ++ .I boycott them since .

I just spent 200 on Call of Duty Black ops II Care package & you know what. I has the game early & still bought it +i own prestige edition + regular black ops both bought. So you may think that low of a percent only buy but i am sure there is plenty people like myself who will buy games still =used "Now Mostly" i am no dummy . + i like CFW for modding / freedom & i watch movies more than play games . Yeah there are many people who download games ,i had to get my psn games back so to bad Sony block me i find a alternative it is there fault, but hey even the people who try to sue ,break the law, so i say each is own ,i care less what others do not my problem nobody is perfect but i am sick of a dirt bag 50 year old men always pushing people around like sony who have no clue what it is to be a gamer .

Agreed. This will be the last Sony console I invest in. When it becomes a pain in the ass to be a video game console customer it's time to move on. I've had and still have for the most part, every video game console since the Atari. This is by far probably the ugliest cycle of a console I've seen thus far. Sony has come a long way from making millions of dollars selling those blank cassette tapes that encouraged so much piracy back in the day. I think life will be better after Sony. 4 days till Wii U. Can't wait.

I was online for a few minutes my self last nigh and nnothing happened and never got a email saying I would or was band. But I not going to push my luck for now.
