That's one thing that quiet bothers me. Why the hell did Sony allow the dongles?, those truly enable piracy at it most. If there is malware out there, they come by the hand of dongles.

Another thing is, Sony got what they wanted, they removed OtherOS and BC. OK then, now prepare to fight with very skillful and unhappy people.

Also, hacking PSN existed way before the first CFW ever released, why are they so afraid now?, at that time I couldn't enjoy playing COD games online because of the cheaters and Sony never went on the cheaters nor they ever helped me (or other users) at all.

Malware... homebrew really squeeze the full power of the consoles, not like Sony's official apps that are full of bugs and lack basic and essential features ("the browser", anyone?).

Hardly surprising. It does things unintended by the author of the original software, pretty sure that's at least a partial definition of malware.

well sony , i have noted what u would like me to do with MY ps3 and u can stick it where the sun don't shine . i am now able to play my higher fw games , which i brought for my bought ps3 , which i own !!!!. and i have still got my other os which u removed . if your not up for the job for providing me with the support i paid for eg play all my games and still have other os etc then well f*ck off . u dont give a f**K then i sure hell wont , thanks you devs for all your hard works for giving me back what i paid for as sony cant do it .

Oh,well...In fact Sony didn't say anything like "malicious software" in that announcement, instead they called CFW "unauthorized software" (see my member news yesterday). "Malware" is all Google translation's own(and inaccurate) interpretation.

Anyway, brace for the (possible) banwave impact.

They done some *formal* warning not mentioning malware just like you said.
But at the end of the day if we think about it, it's kinda labelled like malware.
