factory service mode

How's the easiest way to do this, so I can remarry a bluray Drive. I was told I'd have to use a dongle, I have a HTC one x, but can't find the correct app to use. I'd prefere not to buy a dongle as I'm without a ps3 until this is done

if you still have a working logicboard but dead drive/laser in your ps3, and you are on a 3.55 cfw, then the easiest way is to use the factoryservicemode.pkg.

this way you can turn off your ps3 while in fsm and change the drive and do the remarry process.

1. search for FactoryServiceMode-v0.2.rar
2. extract the FactoryServiceMode.gnpdrm.pkg to the root of a usb stick (for cex firmware like kmeaw)
3. plug it into the most right usb port of the ps3.
4. remove any disc from the bluray drive.
5. install the pkg (install package)
6. run the pkg , if it beeps 3 times (fail) then run it again.
7. Ps3 will beep once, reset and enter service mode.
8. when you want to exit service mode, first shut the ps3 down.
9. take out the usb stick, put it in your computer and rename the Lv2diag_exit.self to Lv2diag.self
10. put it back in the most right port of the ps3
11. turn on your ps3 and will auto load the self file, and your ps3 will return to normal mode.

something like this.
and to take away some confusion, the fsm pkg, installs the Lv2diag_exit.self to your usb

EDIT: and you have to be on 3.55 ofcourse.
