There are many legit reasons for switching to cfw, why should one have to buy a second ps3 to enjoy legally bought games? If I remeber correctly Microsoft was torn into two companies for having a 'monopoly'(all games required windows). This is not too far off from the same senario, game require firmwareXX and you must agree to their ToS.

All games should work for all consoles (even those still with other os) as the machine was sold as a gaming computer. System updates with Tos should be for access to psn only, as that is the only aftermarket service truly 'provided'.

what most people dont understand is that with the data transfer utility, being on OFW still leads to online game modding and cheating. take MW2 for example. its plagued with cheaters with mod menus and the vast majority are all people with OFW that data transferred the modded game updates over from a second CFW ps3. so the argument of CFW=online cheating is null and void

your ps3 = yours to do what you want (lose all support by doing it but nobody can stop you making that decision for yourself)
psn = sonys private network (free access as long as conditions are met)

why should a manufacturer provide support/service to those who voided their warranty? i dont get it...

many dont own a second ps3 and now any second rate f*cktard can do this with just the one!

seemed to miss what I was saying, maybe you didn't read the rest. The cfw users that want no access on psn for other cfw users reasoning of cheating is no better than sony.
To clear things up, I don't care about psn. Bought my ps3 in aug.2011 never seen psn until a couple of months ago. PSN as a store is one thing but requiring it for internet gaming is a form of enforcement not a service. Online gaming should be allowed without "psn". Just look at the computer..

I previously stated that updates with Tos should be for psn only, not games. Any game should run on base firmware, no where on the box does it say future games may only be playable if you conform with whatever the future ToS deem. You buy a console with the understanding games with the ps3 tag will play.

you gotta admit though, for those who get support (abide by rules) this is a non-issue.
we dont deserve any support (as hacked console owners) and sony are well within their right to implement new keys for new games.

i say this but with the exception of such bastardly acts such as removing otheros from legit customers or lose new games/psn, that was out of order

*sigh* Seriously what's the big deal with PS3's Banhammer it has always existed on Xbox 360 and it would eventually be on PS3 so it was just a matter of time.

I'm happy that Sony has finally did it.

If you're using CFW and want the same privileges as a OFW you'll have to take the risks.

Edit: Hopefully Sony can also block consoles from downgrading with a software update, if it's really possible so it completely blows banhammer and CFWs away.

CFW users are not meant to be in the same league as OFW users, it only causes problems.
