I'm not banned from PSN. But I am blocked/banned from BO2 servers. For trying to play a backup I made of my legally purchased copy. Do you really think I deserve that? Personally, I don't think Treyarch should have to power to make someone sign out of their PS3 before they play a game. If somebody cheated then yes, they deserve a Perma-ban. Other than that they shouldn't just be banning people left and right like they have.

so what happens when a few people use the same mac address? is this still not a game of cat and mouse with $ony, there's only so many revealed mac addresses.

all i can see is this is a lot of hassle for a temporary fix

Mac addresses are not unique at all

to quote devwiki

The first three octets (in transmission order) identify the organization that issued the identifier and are known as the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI).[3] The following three (MAC-48 and EUI-48) or five (EUI-64) octets are assigned by that organization in nearly any manner they please, subject to the constraint of uniqueness

this basically means that your mac addy is made up of 6 2 hexdecimal digits
i.e 01:23:45:67:89:ab

the first 3 are assigned by the manufacturer the last 3 are made up by sony or randomly generated

heres a test for you

Take your original mac leave the first 3 2 hexdecimal digits and randomly change one hexdecimal digit

i.e

Original -01:23:45:67:89:ab
custom - 01:23:45:67:79:ab

may or may not work

Hypervisor (LV1) access is denied in non-REBUG post-3.55 firmware versions as those firmware versions haven't had LV1 access patched into them.
