It's not generating more buzz because it's basically useless. It uses sony's attempt at ps2 emulation from 3.21 and has next to no games playable. If someone develops a decent dynarec we may have a chance of some game usage, but that's unlikely. What confused people about your statement was that dex brought that ps2 support. Dex does not, it's just as (in)capable as a regular cfw.

What you would most likely be interested in on dex is ProDG Target Manager which allows game debugging.

I would love to play ps2 games in 1080.

For someone like me who has a launch PS3 with PS2 support, how do I play ps2 back-ups ?
Btw for the people who don't like the yellow light, it's normal once you run the IDPS changer for the light to switch to yellow, it's to tell you that everything is working fine.

It´s the same emulation as the Cobra Dongle.

There´s only 3 ways to run ps2 backups on the PS3
1. Cobra dongle.
2. SwapMagic and usbloader
3. Opening up the ps3 and doing a disc swap.

Cobra is by far the best solution but unfortunately it´s a dongle. still waiting for it ot be reversed or somebody leaks some info about their secrets.

In regards to the lviv73's discussion, that is also helping me figure out what the real difference is between DEX and CEX. Basically for us average game players, DEX is not useful "anymore" right? It was before the new CFW's, because you were able to play some higher firmware games on DEX while not being able to on CEX, is this correct? If I'm right, then that answers one question.

But you mentioned you converted to DEX to play borderlands 2 off a harddrive. So that means DEX still has some advantages? I couldn't play Borderlands 2 off my harddrive using a CEX CFW?
