The word here is that in order to be safe (from brick) you must go through the latter (rather circuitous) route. Having said that, I myself jumped from 3.55 kmeaw to rogero 4.30 without any issues by just following the OP's simplified tutorial. It all comes down to whether you are willing to take the risk or not.

If you can be specific as to what you find difficult to understand in the tutorial, I am sure someone here, perhaps even the OP, will try to shed some light into it.

if you cant understand this tutorial then you will never understand some of the things you will have to do while on cfw. (not trying to be rude).

@Polraudio
always best to be safe:
Kmeaw3.55>ofw3.55>rogerov3.7>rogero4.30 Although some people have managed to jump from one to another, it relies on how "clean" your system is, any patches installed, any downgrading, spoofing. Going to OFW3.55 ensures you are "clean" to begin with and avoids weird issues. @Mereno @itskamel like talking to bots?

Is there any real advantage of me upgrading to 4.30? What benefit will I get over being on 3.55cfw?

Following your guide for 4.30cfw, I am still going to need to wait on games and need game fixes to run backups, correct? If I buy say, COD black ops II, will the original disc still play on a 4.30cfw console? Or do I lose the ability to run some of the newer original discs? Thanks. |

First I want to say thanks for the awesome tutorial. I went:
3.55KMEAW > 3.55 OFW > 3.55 ROGERO 3.7 > Toggle QA > 4.3 ROGERO and it all went flawlessly. I was a little confused about what to do after I got to OFW, but I figured it out when I realized I could not install a PKG on OFW. (duh) I know this is a noob question, but am I good for PSN now? I read in one of these things where I would be ok. I don't really care that much, but it would make updating games easier. |
