so what are the impressions of this cfw. is it safe. has it caused any bricks? i have no flasher n only one ps3 so kinda scared to change other than 3.55 dex to 4.21 dex.

No problems here.I was on 3.55 ItsKamel, used 3.55 downgrader, then jumped to this 4.21.I'm running all recent games, and using PSN as well.

Guys I downgraded from DEX 4.21 CFW with the 3.55 downgrader pup...
Use the downgrader pup which were used before to downgrade on dex...

Guys I forgot to mention that a mate of mine was banned on PSN when he was on CEX..
Later he converted to DEX and installed this CFW.
Now he is back online without problems

right now i m still on that original 3.55 dex rogero firmware (47_rog_3.55_dex_dg_v2_bc141PS3UPDAT.PUP). can i safely upgrade to this cfw from there or is there a different fw i need to be on first.

Upgraded directly from @itskamel DEX 3.55 CFW. So far, every thing seems perfect. Resigned new games and have yet to have issues with any game I've thrown at it. Great release.

If you are going to install Linux to convert to DEX, isn't it easier to just change your MAC using Linux and not convert to DEX

A DEX PS3 is a PS3 that is changed to (or is from factory) a developer machine. And we are talking about DEX firmware here that won't run on a standard PS3. To convert your PS3 to DEX you need to change some things using Linux on the PS3. It isn't an easy task.

So why go into all the converting trouble after installing Linux if the only thing to do is changing your Mac address using the same Linux? You can find the info here in the forum how to change your MAC address and how to go online again....
