[HELP] Which file format is it for the PS3 internal HDD?

Hey guys, just bought a PS3 without an internal HDD, however I do have a 120GB SATA hard drive. I'd just like to ask which file format should I format it in?
I've also noticed that you need a PS3 fimware so I've downloaded the latest one.

Thanks guys

Format it as NTFS in low level format, and put it in the ps3

Ahh ok thanks! :D Anyways, I want to jailbreak/hack my PS3 in the future , which firmware would be the most efficient and easiest for me? Also, how do I install the firmware? do I just put it in the HDD, I heard you have to make folders eg. PS3/UPDATE/ then firmware, something like that.

what OFW your PS3 now?
First: you format your disk and put it blank on the PS3.
Second: it will ask for a Firmware, note what is the minimum firmware it asks for.
Third: but the OFW on a USP as in the directories you wrote " USP:PS3/UPDATE/" and the OFW named: PS3UPDAT.PUP (put it inside the UPDATE Folder)

put the OFW 3.55 at first if you do not the minimum Firmware it asks for. then try higher ones.
if 3.55 works for you, you are lucky, since you can jailbreak it easley, withen minutes.

What is your PS3 Model Number?

I would have thought that fat32 would have been the way to go then as NTFS isn't recognised by the ps3 internal drive AFAIK

Lol, just got the PS3 with no HDD, so don't know the OFW now.

I don't understand your 3rd step. Sorry, I'm completely new to PS3's. What's USP?

Um.. do you mean serial number? I only can see that. Oh but there's another code, it doesn't say anything before but its: CECHG02

Thanks for your informative help!
