Might as well be talking to yourself. OP probably does not know what you are talking about.

Your probably right. People think anyone can fix PS3s. It is not as easy as they think.
It takes a ton of research to figure these things out. Google has helped me learn a buttload of stuff.

So when I turn it on, the light is green for like 3 seconds, then there's a slight yellow light, 3 beeps, and then red flashing light. How can I fix this? Should I create a new thread.
I strongly advise you to give that faulty machine back to from where you bought as fast as you can be..!

Thanx for the info;
i know that it does not need formatting and the PS3 will format it by it self,
but formatting the HD helped me when i ran into update loop error and would not go out of it, so i had to Format it.
and sorry for telling the guy to format it, but it will do no harm.

Lol, I don't think I can return it since it's so cheap. I wouldn't want to go 10 km away just for $10. The owner didn't know if it works or not, because it's been sitting in his storage room for a quite a long time. Seriously, there is no way to repair it?

I would first, take it apart down to the bare bones. Clean the f@ck out of it. Use a can of air, and some rubbing alcohol.
Clean and replace the thermal compound from the GPU and CPU.
Put it back together and cross your fingers and toes, while you press the power button.

If that doesn't work, it most likely needs a reflow(temporary fix) or reball (permanent fix).
That is if the problem is not a bad flash. But if it has been sitting in a storage bin, I got my money on dirt and grime.

Then it seems you have to find an unofficial ps3 service for low fixing price.
unfortunately the price will be more then 10$ this time and plus its possible you have to go away more than 10km ...
