5GB update, I wondered why it took so long. Hell, I got home so late, and fell asleep while the update was in process. Then I awoke to a game pad with a dead battery, and an incomplete update download. I guess the small charge that nintendo put to the battery was not sufficient enough to last thru the update. So I plugged the power cord into the game pad and went back to sleep to complete the update.

That is bad for a console that might not have much internal storage, they better not need to do much updating from here on out. What would happen if Wii U owners need to install a mandatory update but the console has run out of memory?

Hordes of angry people smashing the console on retail stores?..
Better for nintendo to fix the issue ASAP.

On a 5GB update chances are very high.
I doubt such hugh update is for fixing some minor problems.

I think sending in white Wii U to to Nintendo for free internal storage would be a good trade off, but a very bad inconvenience due to Nintendo not thinking correctly when selling an 8GB console that badly needs more internal storage. Does the 5GB update actually get installed to the users internal storage? I'll have to give a look at my Wii U internal storage and see what's going on there.
