I do not really need PSX support at the moment, no clue where my PS1 games are. I can always change between CFW's as well.

So perhaps I shall put Rogero's 4.30 on and if I have issues change to REX 4.21 ...
Then if someone makes a nice guide for ErmaC I may consider moving, I am sure we will get more people who will give ErmaC a try and report back to us.

I think @Simonbuck recommends ErmaC CFW IIRC.

My main issue is the best way to do so - I do not want to screw up and brick my PS3

Its all a much of a muchness.

Some people like Rogeros, some like ermacs, some like REX.

Everyones opinion will be different based on their experience, not necessarily an unbiased view.

Read up on them, do some research, and see which one suits you best.

TBH ermac looks 99% the same as rogeros, and REX looks easily to be the best to me, with the probability they will update the FW from 4.21 to 4.<whatever> in future.

I'm sticking to KMEAW 3.55 for now, so for me to advise you one which 4.xx cfw to use means nothing

as long as you keep doing to the letter what the tutorial says then you should have no issues

Hi guys,

So got my PS3 a few hours ago - 3 or so.
Unpacked it, booted it up and played around a bit. Did a format - then did a restore as the format did not have the effect I was hoping for.

Anyways, long story short it was on FW 2.85 and then I flashed to OFW 3.55 and then Kmeaw 3.55 and then installed Multiman, Memdump and QA toggle. I dumped everything from Memdump (was quick) and that is now on my PC just incase.
I then flashed to ErmaC CFW 4.30 v1.4 and finally got around to playing a game on my first PS3 and I am super happy - so far everything is working great.

Now I just need to get some more games - hopefully tomorrow - and play around and see what all these options are for.
Currently backing up one of the games I got with the PS3 just to test. Need to learn how to FTP to my PC to get the data off the internal HDD and put it back so that I can move some backups to my PC to free up space on the internal. :D
