ok so i am definatly a n00b to the whole downgrading/jailbreaking scene and trust me ive been reading a **** ton , but im still confused about a few things and hoped that i can get some answers to clear things up.... first off i want to know if it is possible to downgrade my ps3 cechh 80 gb fat on 4.20 fw version without using any hardware and only a usb flash drive and files... only reason i ask is because if you search along the linbes of downgrading ps3 on google there are a **** ton of results stating that you can do it without a e3 flasdher/progskeet/teeny or whetever its called etc etc.... and if you cant downgrade without a flasher can someone direct me to where i can buy everything i need to downgrade prefferably a link and a list of everything i need... that would be awsome. and if i have to usae a flasher i would love to not have to do any soldering but i also like saving money(lol) so im guessuing solderless wiull be allot more expensive but whatever... pleeeeaaasseee someone clear up the fog for me... im desperate at this point to know the truth about downgrading....

no you need hardware flasher to downgrade.

well thank you for the quick and swift reply... greatly appriciated.. now would you be able to direct me to a site that i can get everything i need to downgrade and jailbreak and i hope im not asking for to much but would you also be able to tell me everything i need to downgrade so i can buy it all? i prefer solderless but i would also like to know what you would recomend just because ive done alot of reading just trying my best to get a understanding on everytrhing and seen your name on a couple tuts... so if you could do that for me id be honered.

click on the banner at the top of the page it will take you to a post that will mention downgrading then you will see what type of flasher you will need. then when your ready to order and you know what you need. you can go to http://modchipcentral.com they are great.

You will need an old PSP or dongle to get into service/recovery mode
