also, i for one never buy consoles till they have cfw's available. i know alot of friends that wouldnt buy the ps3 if it werent hacked, so ps3 wins anyways. so one can even say some people wouldnt even buy the console if it wasnt hacked. with gamefly/rentals on the rise, missed sales of games due to cfw is being clearly overexaggerated anyways.

edit.. once the wii U gets hacked, im buying it. If it never gets hacked than im never buying it. thats just me.

Hmm i wouldn't say its BS as they do loose quite a bit...anyways I have 2 ps3's one 2x OFW one CFW, I always buy 2 copies of online games but I wanted to play with 3 ps3s since its more fun when people are over.

Something odd:

A few days ago it was confirmed that you could make a new account and get on to the ops servers even on the same ps3 where the main account was having issues. I made a new acc and played fine.

Next day I tried to log in post patch and i get server error,on the hacked ps3.

Today I try it again and same thing on the hacked but works fine on the official.

It's because they're running checks for CFW. If you're on CFW then they're blocking you from their servers. Can't figure out if the check is on the disc or if they're installing files to the directory. I deleted this .BUP file from my directory that wasn't there before. The game still worked but it didn't make a difference. I could be wrong but I think the .BUP stands for Backup.

i to believed they were checking for CFW and denying us access so thats why on one of my experiments i went to 3.55 OFW played the game from a disc
(needed to use zombie killers 1.02 update)
and got another straight up ban???

i upgraded to 4.21 had nothing more to test so i left it alone for a couple days then tried to play online on a banned account and it connected for a VERY short period of time? thats why my last post i was using zombiekillers updates

playing on 4.21 cfw from usb before launch = "denied access"
playing on 4.21 cfw from usb after launch = "denied access"
changed mac address made new account played from disc 4.21 CFW = "denied access" (retail disc + retail update + CFW)
changed mac address made new account played from disc 3.55 OFW (zombie killers update) = "denied access" (retail disc + "modded" update + OFW)

also i ain't played a cod online from mw2 (check blackops 1 & mw3 not even on leaderboards) and i only bought the retail disc to see if i could HELP OTHER PEOPLE OUT i dont care for COD anymore been playing it online from cod4 (MW2 last cod i liked and played) im more interested in finding out how treyarch are doing this and denying us access TBH PEOPLE im having more fun trying to sneak passed their detection method then i would playing it online?

it must be some kind of cfw check i was playing fine online from v1.00 to v1.02 on cfw i did not play online for few days and when i connect i had to update to v1.03 this all went fine and i got in lobby fine started a game and it loaded up and then quit b4 game start and then no more can i get online always server no. so i have 2 ps3 with cfw so i go on 2nd ps3 make a new psn account load the game up update all fine go to lobby again all fine start a online game works and loads up all fine get in game for 2mins then it quit me and now cant get online on boath my ps3.
my friend with ofw no problems at all but if he try his retail disc and his psn on my ps3 cfw it no work.
my psn accounts work on his ofw ps3 and game no probs
so 100% sure its a cfw check that is in the update 1.03
someone with tools why not unpack the 1.03 update and see what is going on
maybe you can remove the check or something from the update and online work
