I'm kind of lost here, mostly because this is my first time owning a PS3 with CFW. I recently got a 40GB model with Rogero 4.30 pre-installed, and since the HDD is kind of small i want to install my 320GB drive.

Since the PS3 will ask for an update after switching HDD i read a guide from Rogero himself how to do this. The only thing about it is that he mentions that multiMAN must be installed before updating to the newest, because "Install Package Files" does not exist on 4.30 cfw.

So basicly, to my understanding, this is how i should do it:

1. Install toggle qa and run it
2. Install "Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7" in Recovery Mode
3. Install the new harddrive
4. Install Rogero 4.30 cfw again.

In what step here should i install multiMAN 4.12.0 ? Before installing 4.30?

- Download the Downgrader PUP ---> Downgrader PUP mirror ---> Downgrader PUP
Size 176MB (184,595,263 bytes) MD5: 49d80e07fc1f5ca1b0840e02e94635db
- Rename the downloaded file to "PS3UPDAT.PUP" and put it on your USB in: "USB\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP"
- Swap the current HDD with the New HDD, Turn the PS3 on, follow screen instructions and let it install the Downgrader CFW.
- After the Downgrader CFW installs you'll be on a hybrid CFW3.55 that will still shows ver4.21 from system settings.
- Enable QA flag

So what i have to do is this?

1. Download the downgrader .PUP and rename to PS3UPDAT.PUP and put in USB in PS3/UPDATE
2. Turn off and install new HDD
3. Let it install the update from USB
4. Install and enable QA flag
5. Install latest multiMAN
6. Install Rogero CEX-3.55 CFW V3.7 (Recovery Mode)
7. Install Rogero 4.30 (Recovery Mode)

QA can only be run on 3.55 or lower, The downgrade pup will show 3.41 so QA wont work, hence rog 3.55 v3.7 1st

I guess there's no reason this shouldn't work with Rebug's CFW and their downgrade PUP either, I'll try it next week when my new HDD arrives!

had my console downgraded then 4.30 CFW installed, but when trying to install my new hardrive it will not run the downgrader. does this need to be downgraded before installing the new hard drive?
