how far back MM base do i need to go

How far Back MM Base to start from again, a year or???

then upgrade from there

If you are using windows, I can only advice you to install a hashsum shell extension, it makes everything so much easier
Just google md5 shell extension or something, I'm on work comp, so I cannot remember the name of the one I currently use...

Its called Hashtab. After installing that you can right click any file and see it's hashes(md5,and others).

i always delete the old version before installing new and never had a problem
