How far Back MM Base to start from again, a year or???

If you are using windows, I can only advice you to install a hashsum shell extension, it makes everything so much easier
 Just google md5 shell extension or something, I'm on work comp, so I cannot remember the name of the one I currently use... |

Its called Hashtab. After installing that you can right click any file and see it's hashes(md5,and others).
