OK I'm fairly new to the scene I already found out that I couldn't hack my vita so can y'all help me with my ps3. I have a slim PS3 and on the back it says CECH-250 and my fw is 3.40 I downloaded the fw checker and it says I can go to 3.50
I was wondering if I can hack into my ps3 or no and also is it easy or hard

Wrong, you must be on 4.30, not 3.40 if a minvercheck reports 3.50 as the lowest you can go.

You need a hardware flasher (E3 for your NOR) and a FSM dongle to downgrade back to OFW 3.55.

If I were you id download a copy of Kmeaw 3.55 and place it onto a flash drive, This is how.....Get a flash drive and use your pc to format it to FAT32, then still using your pc make a folder called ''PS3'' inside that make another called '''UPDATE'' inside that is were your gonna put your custom firmware, it'll be called ''UPDAT.PUP'' place the flash drive in your ps3 and go to ''system update'' press ''X'' and it'll ask if you want to update via internet or via storage media select ''storage media'' and let it do its thing, once finished you'll be on Kemaew 3.55 CFW were you can play back ups of ps3 games and run third party apps such as emulators of arcade games and megadrive, nes, snes and gameboy and atari and commadore64, also run media apps and other plugins. If you would like any further help please dont hesitate to private message me id be glad to be of assisstance , also I still have alot of apps and other things left over from when I first started and id be happy to send them to you..

How can he do that if his FW is 4.30?

His min FW is 3.50 according to minverchk, but he wrote his FW is currently 3.40... impossible.

It must be a misspelling of 4.30.

Yeh, you definitely are not on 3.40 if your minimum is 3.50 lol, if you are please let us know how as it would solve many problems.

it should have been CECH 2501 or 2504 which contains 4 digits..
if so,you must be on 3.40 or 3.50 as you said before.!

yes iI'm on 4.30 but my cousin is gonna trade me his phat one that's on 3.73

OMG, don't trade your slim for a phat. If you want to go to 3.55 both will need downgrading via a hardware flasher (if that phat is 3.73 OFW)
