It's a good idea in theory but I personally think it would cripple relations with people.

These things shouldn't be taken too seriously (speaking of that you shouldn't LET these things get to you so bad that you get angry). It's just the internet. You are exposed to morons, ignorance and even intelligence at a greater exponential rate than you would in a real life situation.

Yes it's annoying, frustrating, angering, etc but there are way more important things to worry about than the dude who doesn't want to take a few seconds to read. You don't have to answer the dope who asked a question that's been answered countless times. You don't have to acknowledge the obvious troll.

I guess I just have lots and lots of patience.

Please take in consideration banning people that meet the following criteria:

- User ask a question, when it has been answered at least "X" number of times, and its clearly available on the forums.

- User acts without gratitude to other users / members / group / ps3hax , and demand "X" service like if this was a "business" and they paid "X" person to work for them.

- User becomes a troll, and start writing non-related content in threads to purposely create a mess around.

I believe if these 3 and probably more little things are considered, the site will be a lot nicer to read.

I don't have anything against the noobs, we all been noobs at something at some point, the problem is when noobs don't know the history of the scene, and don't show respect to those people who deserve it, and they come here to PS3HAX like if it was theirs and start messing things up for veteran / regular members.

I hope @GregoryRasputin / @hellsing9 / @Pirate can do something about these situations happening lately.

Thanks so much in advance, if I remember another recommendation I will add it later here as well.

SeeYa!

If you guys make me a moderator, I promise you I'll work religously to fulfill atleast #1 and #2.
I'm serious.

Agreed 100% , patience is the key and remembering those points you just mentioned.

I usually have lot of patience but lately with all the recent events on the scene, my patience bar fills very quick LOL! xD

While I understand what you are talking about, because I was once a noob that did this probably, I dont think this will work effectively. Reason being is that when a new person comes to the site and has no idea what they are looking at or understand anything because they are new they ask what seems to be dumb questions because most of us know the answer and get frustrated answering all the time. But if you ban then all they will do is create another acct and ask more "dumb" questions. There is already required reading material when someone signs up, but it's like an instruction manual that comes with a game... Who reads them? Nobody, we just throw the game in and play. Well Some of us remember when games had instruction manuals.

Interesting thought process, are we talking ideas or open to others?
What about creating a separate section called 'already been asked, use search' and the mods can immediately move the post to there, where no one replies.

The user would then need to use the search facility.

Only a suggestion that may work. But the only thing with it is that mods would then have to go through the huge process of continually moving THOSE posts.

I don't really know how the forum software works so maybe these suggestions aren't feasible but what about putting a set amount of time that every new user must remain on that page they have to read and make it clear to them that they will be stuck on that page for a certain amount of time so they might as well read it while they are there.

Then after the timed stay at that page is up the new user can now click on the ok or confirm button and once they do a new window pops up saying something like "you have just read the rules if not go back and read them now because you are on a two month new user probation period every time you break the rules during this period you will be banned for 24 hours and your thread(if created) or the offending post will be deleted. You have three try's and then you will be perma-banned."(at least the account anyway)

Then they will need to once again click ok or confirm.

Also I think a very easy to find link(that opens in a new window) to the site rules should be available on every page of this site.

This way you put it all on the user as it is his/her responsibility to know the rules and follow them so a new user has no reason to break the rules other than just being willfully ignorant, so if they do break them more than 3 times then the staff can feel free to ban them without feeling like "nazi's".

If you don't want to answer a n00b post, why just not answer it

I only answer a N00b post when I feel I want to, otherwise it is up to someone else
