Can anybody help me share a folder on my win7 do that showtime will see it.
I tried for hours last night. Win7 shows me the folder is shared but showtime does not see it on my network via cable not wireless

you need to create a bookmark with showtime like my example: http://imgur.com/33lxp
you will need to get your correct ip by doing this at cmd and type ipconfig /all this is my picture http://imgur.com/iCNJH i just left at that picture the ip location where you should find yours, after that you need may be ask by showtime to insert a username / password, use your windows account and that's it, let me know if everything goes nice :P

btw, this is Samba it will just share the folder you wish and that's it, this will not transcode like using windows media player or ps3 media server but showtime could play mostly everything except for those high reframes movies that will gives you a blackscreen :P

sure, but i will try to explain this fast without lots of pics, this is the way i use to get this work without any issue:

1) go to your control panel
2)select small icons (this way you could see everything) and select Administrative Tools
3)from here go to Computer Managment and when you click it you will see something like this: http://imgur.com/dFqQc
4) right click over "Shares" and you will get the option "new share" or something like that, click it and just add your folder .

i know you could just click any folder and "share it" but this way will work flawless, at least for me even when i'm drunk lol
