Two useless YLODed PS3s - What to do with them?
Hello everybody,
Recently I got two PS3s ( a 60 GB and a 40 GB Model ), both with YLOD. I already tried to repair them using gilksy's Method, but it failed. So I'm asking you now, what could I do with them now, are they any other solutions to fix the YLOD? Could I do some modding on it? Post your ideas what you would do please. Greetz, Sergeant Wasabi. |

It depends whether the firmware on them is below 3.55 or not. If they are, then i would have them reballed and either keep them, or sell on for a profit. Since 4.21/4.30 CFW came out the value of these have gone right up.
If they are a newer firmware then I would just part them out on ebay. The HDD's and BR Drives will be worth something as well as the cases etc. The cost of reballing these, then having to downgrade them to make them worth anything, would cost you more than you'd get for them. Just my 2c. |

If the YLOD is from heat issues have them reballed, Gilksy method is a reflow fix right?, A reflow if worked is a temp fix reballed is permanent fix.

Take your two PS3s, dust them off, stick em sideways and shove them straight up your candy ass!

Had you not tried some botched attempt at repairing them, I may have been interested. Being as I am sure you have no experience in fixing ylod console (henc this thread) , I am very confident you did way more harm than good to these units, and they are definetly parts units now at best.
@Mr.Dutch
, I only like sloppy seconds when they are from you.
