Hi guys/gals

Having a bit of difficulty updating my PS3 back to 4.21 from 3.55 rebug

Basically i updated it about but was having problems getting things to install properly and games to run. so i used Rebugs downgrader...

However i have finally clicked on to why my games wouldnt load etc and have decided to go back to 4.21 has it allows PSN access and newer games to be played without certain patches.

Only trouble is when i try upgrading i get the prompt for an update newer than Rebugs 999 downgrader which im guessing my PS is thinking its on 4.21 which it isnt...its on 3.55

Any ideas or possible suggestions...

I've tried installing from recovery with 4.21 CFW and 3.55 OFW !!!

@ChopAxePiece , I am sorry to hear your having issues. I don't have any help I can give you. But I will be watching this thread since there isnt a TUT for downgrading using the downgrader PUP. So I am hoping this will answer some questions before I jump. I hope you get your issue fixed soon.

try running toggle qa then flashing 355 make sure the qa flag is set with the button combo.

I'm out at the moment but as soon as i am home i will try running the QA flag...see if that helps.

had the same problem thought my ps3 was back on ofw as it was showing 4.21 and starting with ps3 logo but it was just cfw that needed QA flag installed and turned on then i was able to downrade back to cfw then ofw 3.55 then back to what ever cfw u like worked for me hope the same for u

You don't have a disk in your drive do ya?

Are you sure you're not on the 999 downgrader? It won't let you go to 4.21 since it's syscon is 9.99

What you should do is use the 999 downgrader again go back to 3.55 OFW and then jump back to rebug 4.21

Makre sure you don't have anything in the drive or you'll wind up updating to whatever firmware is on the disc.

4.21 to 9.99 rebug downgrader.then qa flag install.and install 3.55 ofw.

First attempt:

Installed toggle qa..ran it ps3 beeped twice went off etc etc.
Went to install Rebug 4.21 CFW...copied to hard drive but then said data is corrupt..

Gunna try with 3.55 OFW now .
