So I am having another issue - I have upgraded to Rogero v2.0 and have burnt a PSX game onto a blank DVD, inserted it into the PS3 and gone into Multiman. It detects the game on the disc and I press "X" and then it says "Please wait..." with white boarders and then just a blank, black screen and I am forced to turn the PS3 off and back on again.

Thought it may have been the game, so since it was RW DVD I just erased it and tried with a different game and still the same story. Am I missing something, doing something wrong?

I used Power ISO to burn the .ISO to the DVD (I used a DVD as I had no CD's).
So on the DVD is the contents of the disc and not the actual .ISO

The issue is you are using a DVD.... try a CD instead since all PS1 games were on CD

Would that really affect it? The PS3 picks it up fine and is able to read which game it is, so I would have thought it to be alright...

I will then need to try get some blank CD's.

You can also stream them all from a PC as well and everything is region free.
The post I made when quoting this after PS3Hax came back online yesterday went missing.

Are we able to play PSP backups without the Cobra dongle?

Also how would I stream the ISO's off my PC - is this for PS1 games without Cobra?
Could I possibly do the same for my PS3 games

Yeah I would use CD's.

They are working fine for me on KMEAW + mmCM 04.12.00

Alien resurrection is still awesome imo, though I was scared to try play it again, as the last time I burnt the very same PSX game and put it in a PS3 I got RLOD on my old 60GB and the game disc is still in there from october last year .. hehe works fine now though.

That was just coincidence DNB! I will make sure to get some blank CD's later and then I can reunited with some of my favourite PS1 games and childhood memories: Crash Bandicoot and Spyro were the main two.

They do not seem to make games like that anymore -sigh-

I wish I could play PS2 games, quite a few there I would loooove to play. :-/
That isn't likely to happen though.

Hehe yeah it was a coincidence.

You could try the FSM PS2 trick, but its sh!te compatibility, and you need original discs.

Getting Playstation 2 Software Emulator working

Method (on Firmware 3.55, without! Cobra-USB Dongle or Downgrade) for all consoles (fat & slim).

1. Replace following files on your consoles /dev_flash/
with the ones included in this archive
p3dwik-ps2compatfiles.rar
2. Get into Factory Service Mode (FSM Tool/Dongle)
3. Insert your Original PS2 Game Disc
4. It will run.

Note: Backups wont work. You're getting the compatibility of the 2.60 software emulator with all of its bugs.

Download: p3dwik-ps2compatfiles.rar

Yeah, I saw it. Don't have any PS2 games as I never owned a PS2 and won't purchase any when it has crappy compatibility.

I just hope a lot of the PS2 games get carried over as HD Collections onto PS3.
So far there are a few such as GoW, Ratchet & Clank, Devil May Cry.

There is an SSX for PS3, sadly no Crash Bandicoot for PS3

Alright - so got some blank CD's last night. Tried to burn two and neither worked...

Then I searched for a guide and it recommended you use Alcohol 120%, burn on the lowest speed (which I had already done on the CD RW - so not sure how much of a diff that makes) and in Alcohol set it to Playstation.

That worked! So for future reference, if burning a PS1 image to a CD - use Alcohol 120% and use the Playstation preset settings

Depends what game, most will work doing a straight 1:1 with a basic ISO format. It's only the high profile and later releases that need the PS1 profile in Alcohol (ability to write subchannel data uncorrected, basically).
