If anyone deserves a vacation it is this new group of users that come in with this entitlement complex. They dont ask for anything they demand it...

Most of the users we are talking about needing to be banned will eventually get themselves banned for their overall ****ty attitude. Now a small group of these users are just nooobs that become regualr contributing members with time.

perhaps it would be better to have the leve based on your received thanks count rather than your post count.
this way it will represent your leavel of merit.

perhaps there could be a system put inplace in each catagory where buy everyone can read the thread but you need to have an x amount of posts tobe able to reply in that catagory

ie
0 post count for the help section
0 post count for the iintroduction section
10 post count for the downgrade section

Well at least you said something.
Yes indeed we are STILL n00bs, it's not an insult at least for me.
Nobody knows everything about anything..easy. (or nobody borns knowing it all)

But as a moderator i have to close, trash, etc along with HAX staff (Gregoryrasputin, Japsander, Defaultdnb, etc) certain threads because some n00bs or so to speak *new users* have a *weird* way or bad attitude asking for help.

That's the problem.
Im talking as a moderator, im a user too. So i can see both sides of the coin.

its not about "curbing noobs" its about finding a happy medium.

the op has simply voiced his concern in that way due to the sheer number of pointless threads and posts. there pointless as there are allready threads created but the new user simply refuses to search or read. the same can be said about the posts. a dev releses a homebrew game and its "can this give me 4.** cfw" posts that are pointless. or its simply jumping on the bandwagon to join in with insulting someone / thing that then leads to a decent thread being put in the drama / bin section.

if you read the posts in this thread you will see many ideas by ppl about how to resolve this issue in the best way possible.

if you go over to xscene you will find you cannot create a thread untill you have alot of posts first also you have a very limited time to edit your post / threads before your locked out.

you will find i have asked the question over there about removing this limitation but the mods and admins are happy with the way it is.
and instead decided to bash me for the way i replied to there replies..... so
questioning the sites policy = bad
bashing a user = good
go figure!

have you gone over there and complained? i doubt it.
but your willing to complain when ppl in this site are trying to find a solution in a better way?

hmmm

i wonder if @Pirate can give some input to the thread?
it would be nice to see any possible changes he has personaly been thinking about or if he can say if / what can be changed

or will changes to the site simply be a much bigger job to put into practice?
