Actually, I find the Action Replay Max method the easier and the one with the most advantages. You can get it for cheap (even used for even cheaper) and after the hack you can keep ARMax which is very usefull for quite alot of stuff. One is that you can backup your saves to a USB stick and transfer them also on a PC and grab saves from the net too plus if you mess up something sometime with FreeMCBoot you can re-launch the ELF using it. The advantages are way too many to list now but it's worth it.

EDIT: Here is a link http://freemcboot.info/armax.html
I tried looking up Action Replay Max Evo on Amazon.co.uk and according to the reviews none have the Media Player thingy.

With ARME I would just need to drag the files correctly to the USB stick and do as stated? Sounds easy but

I'll look up on eBay... Eh no luck, seems like the Media Player edition is pretty rare.

Edit: It only works with the one that has Media Player? Dammit, I'm out of luck.

Yes you need the media player to launch .elf files that are located on the usb. If you cant get your hands on one then try one of the other installation options here : http://freemcboot.info/

Use the FreeMCBoot method. It doesn't require a ps1 game and the title.db to work, it's been updated since then to just work as long as the memory is plugged into the ps2. For that method since you have a fat ps2, all you would need is a cheat device like the action replay with the media player thing, or codebreaker, and a pen drive they can read. If you have that, you have all that you need to make it work.

Get one of those USB memory card adapters (I just saw one at my local Superstore for 7 bucks) and convert the memcard to a FMCB one on your PC.

...and how do you install FMCB to the memory card in the first place?

Anyway, yes, I highly recommend FMCB. It will take approx. 2MB on your memory card, but it's well worth it. Especially if you have a HDD and network adaptor in order to load games from internal HDD.

This isn't useful is it - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...F8&me=&seller= ?

I'm trying find a seller with Action Replay Max Evo Media Player, but so far it's not been an easy task.

If anyone here knows where I can purchase Action Replay Max Evo Media Player, please post or send me a message.

Well, in case I can't get hold of ARME I'll look into the other methods available.

For FreeMCBoot, you unzip it and use PS2SaveBuilder to convert it to whichever cheat device you have. You then put it on the pen drive in the same place the cheat device puts compressed saves. Put the pen drive in PS2 and start the cheat device. Go to the thing in the cheat device that allows you to transfer compressed game saves to and from the pen drive and it will show up in the list of compressed saves. Decompress it. Done. Start up the PS2 with the memory card still in it and you are good to go. The only issue is making sure you have a pen drive the cheat device you have can read from. My codebreaker couldn't detect my pen drive, but my copy of AR Max with the media player was able to detect that same pen drive, so I converted FreeMCBoot to a AR Max game save, copied it onto my pen drive in the place that the AR Max transferred compressed game saves to and from, inserted it into the PS2, ran AR Max, went to the pen drive, decompressed the save onto the memory card, restarted my PS2, and everything was good to go.

I've never heard of one of these, but that sounds like an even better solution than trying to figure out which cheat devices can read whatever pen drive you own.
