Can someone tell me if it's possible to flash a different CFW 4.30 version (instead of E3) if you use a hardware flasher? The tutorial explains that you get an error if you install a different CFW 4.30 in recovery mode, but flashing a different CFW 4.30 through hardware flashing will circumvent this right?

Just a pair of questions:

1) My PS3 says it is 4.11 Trueblue 2.11. That means I can directly use this as it is said, or do I need to do something else?

2) What is a Flasher? Sorry but many concepts evade me.

If you are on True Blue CFW, you are on 3.55 with a spoof.
Install OFW 3.55 from the recovery menu. Then update to any CFW you want.
No need for a flasher.

If you read this thread, it is for those that have a ps3 that cannot be downgraded to 3.55. You are on 3.55 already.

I see. Gotta ask. I've been reading an issue about backwards compatibility. Do the 4.30 CFW only run a couple of games? Or can they run any game up to 4.30 firmware needs? Also which so far is the best 4.30 CFW?

@ that guy who bricked it:
Just flash your dump back you have made before doing this process then it will be like you never done it. And you can try it again.

@ the ppl who don't like E3 cfw 4.30: It should be possible now to update from E3 cfw to Rogero cfw 4.30 v2.03 from XMB in E3 CFW. Just try it. (Make sure you have a flash backup just in case. Can be made with Rebug toolkit when not having your E3 Flasher anymore)
