Conclusion: Nobody here was able to run 4.XX CFW with 4.XX OFW in Dualboot, right??? Not even with the new ROgero 4.21 V2 with LV1 Checks disabled???

Software used :

Flowrebuilder 4.1.3.2 (to bytereverse)
Winskeet ( to apply patch )
HexEditor ( Optional, just to check the dumps )

My Config :
E3 fast dual boot mode + unbrick solder( U NEED IT ) . 3.55 dualboot update.bin
if your motherboard doesn't support fast dualboot just replace CFW/OFW switch operation by read/write CFW/OFW bkpps3.bin. Search tut about HALF DUAL BOOT.

Switch Explain

? : OBFLASH = E3 nor FLASH

1 :
PS3 MODE = PS3 normal boot boot
FLASH FUN = SPECIAL PS3 STATE, u can write and read NOR without system conflict

2 :
CFW : PS3 use E3 NOR
OFW : PS3 use it own NOR

3 :
PROG : Write content to the DEVICE selected(SW5 - OBFLASH or PS3FLASH) FROM source selected (SW4 - SD or OBFLASH)
BACKUP : Write content to the DEVICE selected(SW4 - SD or OBFLASH) FROM source selected (SW5 - OBFLASH or PS3FLASH)

4 : see SW3
5 : see SW3
6 : Always locked


---CFW NOR---
---SW:PS3MODE/CFW---
---HDD CFW1---


Install BASE 3.55rogeroV7 checkoffed
( if u want 4.21.1 REX with otheros, install NOW rebug 3.55 otheros++ ans prepare otheros. On 4.21.1 u can't do that )
Install last multiman
Qaflag ON
Install X.XXCFW via recovery
Boot

SWITCH OFF

---SW:FLASHFUN/CFW/BACKUP/MICROSD/OBFLASH---
Backup NOR to SD

---PC---

Byte reverse bkpe3(x).bin with Flowrebuilder 4.1.3.2
Apply downgrade PATCH to new bkpe3.bin.REV, tested with WINSKEET :

From what you posted you were able to install the patched 4.21cfw to the e3 and updated the ps3 to ofw 4.31.
But what you failed to say was if you were able to go back and forth

U can go back of course ! Without manipulation. ( just change disk and switch ... )

can you give a bit of info about that patch....was it ment for 4.21 or was it used on 3.55 before...
how are you appling the patchfile.txt??? I've never seen it used before, and do you think it will work on the 4.30v2...im not worried about the loss of install package file. If you install the new multiman on 3.55 rogeroV7 it shouldnt be an issue.

Only do the patch not the downgrade !!!

If winskeet give u an error. change the patchfile.txt like mine.

Now im testing rebug 4.21.1. Then 4.30cf.

I was thinking, you can have multipy hdd for the same f/w...I was swapping out drives once to use custom game lobbies in waw and mw2...i could swap the internal for another one and let the process format it all it wanted and then swap back in my good one...sound good?
